I am glad to receive the acceptance letter today, I am just wondering the kids from which kindergartens are more preferrable by KTS.  Mine is from St. Cat. :wink:

Surprise !  今日收到信啊! 呀仔只是讀一般幼兒園 & 細仔, 當初只是希望比佢見識吓咩叫 "考小學", 自己又去見識吓 hehe. 全沒諗過會得, 所以 in 完後都無問佢識唔識.

最慘是 1st round 已 lucky 地抽心儀小學, 点算呢!!!!  我己將這個"波"交比老公諗啦

我都不知道這間學校的收生標準，當面試完畢，我問我的仔仔識唔識，他說有幾條問題都唔識回答，好似好多問題問，又要考英文及中文，有些中文和英文要你讀，又給你一些圖片要你找出不同的地方。

My daughter was also accepted by KTS.  I want to know how many English lessons per week which is conducted by native English teachers.  Everyday or just once a week?  My friend told me that APSKT has also native English teachers to teach oral English, but only one lesson per week.  Also, is the English standard of KTS's students high?

My daughter has been offered with places in KTS & TSL. Does KTS have link with secondary school?

We know that the success % of TSL is about 180 out of 1600. How about KTS?

Could anyone kindly let us know which one is better?

Are they all ranked in Band One?

KTS佢地無結龍/聯繫中學, 佢隔離O個間九龍塘學校(中學部)雖然同一個辦學團體, 但是佢地是無關係, KTS是BAND 1, 而隔離O個間九龍塘學校(中學部)是BAND 3

From KTS's website, "各科課程均採用活動及傳統相結合的教學法，並輔以戶外參觀、講座、專題研習及課程統整等活動，藉以提高學生之學習興趣和加強學生聽、說、讀、寫之能力。"

There're 2 phonics lessions per week, which are taught by native English teachers; in addition to usual English lessions.

The language standards are quite high.  The teachers provide sufficient training in vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, listening skills etc. in addition to the textbooks stuff.

This year, about 39 per class - 4 classes in p.1.

Language training is really important in KTS.  Indeed, as I mentioned here before, the school is demanding.  It's usual, I think, as a band 1 school.

Beside the 2 phonics lessons per week, are there any oral lessons taught by native English teachers in KTS?  As my daughter also came from SC, I want to choose one primary school which has more English lessons taught by native English teachers.  Thanks for your sharing.

To all:

KTS encourages extra-curricular activities.  There are a lot of choices.  My kid is not interested in music, so we chose sports etc.

For p.1, there are oral lessons (twice per week).  Apart from these, you can join extra-curricular activities for oral training.

Then your kid and his classmates should be smart.  But last year, I saw a parent asking for an interview when I was completing the registration procedures.

Of course, there are reasons for not joining this school.  Last year, I did reject the offers given by the other schools.  But it meant nothing to us.

Besides, there were about 1,000 applications last year.  But there are almost 160 p.1 students.  I don't know how you can arrive at a statement that all the applicants are accepted by KTS.  Seems an innovative maths concept!

我想請問每星期是不是有 2 phonics lessons and 2 oral lessons. 如果是的話，都幾好，因為很多學校每星期都是得一堂oral lesson.  另外國語科是不是用普通話教的.
