I received the letter and got my choice in the AM class.  

Not sure, should i pick So-Chek or Ling Liang Tong as both are accepted in AM class...any comments to me??

DawnPa: May I know how would you choose among LLC, TL and 衛理堂? BTW, did you apply PB as well? My son applied these four kinder and were accepted by PB and LLC. True Light and 衛理堂 are also good. Hope to get some input from other parents. Thanks.

Hi Dawnpa,

Thanks for your quick response and input. I totally agree that parents should pay high attention to whether the kinder provides a good environment for the child's character development. I believe that the four kinders I mentioned are able to deliver this.

Just received the letter from 衛理堂 that my boys are admitted for the AM class. Here is the difficulties: they are now admitted by PB, LLC and 衛理堂 (all AM class). If you were me, how would you make the choice?

Hi DanielRoth,

Most parents choose the kindergarten which can have higher chance to go to famous primary school or can help their children learn lots of vocabularies, etc.
However, I believe that the most important thing in kindergarten my kids have to learn is "her character development", particularly before 6 years old. Among other things, she needs to know "how to learn", "how to solve problems", self-discipline and self-care. I think that is why kingergarten learning has a life-long effect. All other knowledge in books, writing skills or vocabularies, I guess she can pick up all these within two months when she grows up.

For PB, I do not have much information, no comments. For TL, it is a school famous with full of "LOVE" and thus is good for character development. For LLC and 衛理堂, they have creative education styles and respect kids' individuality. Also no homework, no test and no examination is a good environment for my kids' character development.

Choose the one that suit your kid most and also the one that you agree with its teaching method.
If you have religious belief, choose the one with the same belief.  It is very important.

Remember, the schools are using quite different teaching methods.

I fully agree with Dawn and Deborah. Teaching method and teachers' attitude are the most important things upon decision making. Because these affect children most during their character development.

You imagine for a 3-4 years old child, how much they really understand what is right or wrong?? It's really little!

Kinder plays a big part for their learning process and children tend to follow what their classmates are doing and how teachers teach them.

Thanks a lot for your input. I totally agree that the teaching approach and the teachers' attitude are most important.

The teaching approaches deployed by the kinders that I chose are similar: creative with children as the centre point. I have good impression about the teachers of PB, TL and 衛理堂. They are warm and caring. For LLC, I have the feeling (during interview) that they were just trying to complete the task. You know the interview time is short and it's not easy to have a good observation of the teachers' attitude. Do you have similar feeling? Correct me if I am wrong regarding LLC's teachers.

我剛收到衛理堂的信, 收了我囡囡下年讀n1, 上午班; 而我本身是一位基督徒;

我想請教一下您們, 會選擇衛理堂或是蘇浙呢?.. 其實蘇浙既nursery 都仲未收我地架, 我囡囡要下星期五才2nd interview, 因佢1st in. 時不太說話... 所以要2nd interview;

但由於衛理堂本星期六就要交留名費, 所以我想急於聽取大家的意見...  

似乎看您們以上的留言, 就沒有提及過蘇浙, 不知道您們是否一向都對蘇浙沒有興趣呢...

請幫忙發表意見, 謝...

蘇浙優勝的是可直昇上小學, 那我到時不用煩要再幫囡囡考學校...     另外聽說蘇浙的國語, 英文及品行都幾好...  學費跟衛理堂差不多, 但每天也有半小時外籍老師教授英文, 這樣(史劊的)好似好"底"咁...     

Besides, how do you weight the bibical-based education for your kid?
In particular, the following sentences:
「敬畏耶和華是智慧的開端，認識至聖者便是聰明。」（箴言九： 十）
「教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。」（箴 言廿二：六）

但我先生不是基督徒, 要說服佢有間可直升小學的學校我不嘗試, 而選擇一間沒有小學直升的幼稚園, 可能有小許難度, 雖說衛理堂是我宗教的路向.... 我也覺得衛理堂出來的小孩很有愛心.... 這樣, 要成功說服我先生, 我可能要找更多point 出來...
