我個囝囝讀書不好，但是其他方面很好，由其是做的食物，他們做的蛋糕比出面還好味。而且他們每次做好的蛋糕也帶回校請老師及同學一起分享，這學校發掘都嗎？

學校只會發掘學術上及行為上的問題，而其他問題她是發掘不都的。

路過搭訕，我明白你好勞氣，不過好難憑一句說話作出咩評論，因為大家都唔知當然的前因後果、語氣、及其他說話……

你作為家長，一諗就立即判斷別人睇小你孩子是十分不利，因為你對別人說話的解讀都會構成孩子的自我形象，所以不論別人咩動機，最好全部當對方為自己著想，我唔係snoopy校長fans唔係幫佢講說話，我完全係以家長身份講出意見。

我自己都係咁，有時老師罰我仔罰得無理取鬧，我心裡甚至覺得玩針對咩，但我從不表露，我只會安慰個仔說：老師咁嚴格，係想激勵你鬥志想你叻…

唔好勞氣啦，希望幫到你。

查實講黎講去，都唔可以賴晒學校/校長功利主義既，講到尾根本就係香港社會大圍既事，我地個社會就係太狹窄太少出路，太少工種，壓返落黎，咪攪到學校都惟"成績"是圖囉

回想當年第一次聽這位名校長那番有教無類的言論, 真的令我熱血沸騰, 以為教育界終於有曙光.

第二次有機會出席到她的招生簡介會時, 感覺有商業味道, 但依然對她著迷.

做了第三次聽眾以後, 終於清醒了, 因為細嚼她 ...

小謙伯伯

前日去小謙屋企，謙爸俾伯伯同小謙一人一杯士多啤梨雪榚。小謙食左幾啖就將個杯推俾我，話好難食，唔食。我望住杯雪榚真心讚賞小謙話：「小謙有 character 喎，覺得唔好食就唔食，伯伯就唔得喇，明明係覺得唔好食都唔出聲，照哽。小謙你有 revolutionary mind，真係後生可畏，抵讚呀！」跟住唔單止夾硬哽左自己o既一杯，仲食埋佢果杯。

小謙聽到我話佢有revolutionary mind 好高興，因為佢近期認識左幾個重要o既革命(美國、法國、俄國)，仲睇左 1954 同 1999 兩個版本o既 Animal Farm 電影，預計暑假就會埋身去到偉大祖國o既文化大革命(是關電影裏頭果隻叫拿破崙o既曳曳豬大搞個人崇拜時，伯伯已經做左下回預告，唱左支當年紅極一時o既《大海航行靠舵手》俾小謙聽。又：辛亥革命小謙一年前已經學左，世史學得較後係因為我唔想佢用中文學世史之故)。

話說回來，我讚左小謙之後就想，如果俾謙爸謙媽聽到，會唔會話我教壞個侄呢？價值觀呢樣野好難講，學校o既敎育政策都一樣，到底仍係果兩句 -- 道不同不相為謀，合則來不合則去。

生氣, it's great that i manage to find this post when researching about Ying Wa and Snoopy.   Though i've pm some existing parents of YW in order to know better about the life in YW, i get no reply.

我不知道如果孩子入讀yw不是最top 的一群, 又或不能為學校拿什麼獎項, 日子會怎麼過? 我暫時還找不到答案… 再聽到校內有老師打學生, 還安然留在校內, 我想我還是要再想清楚孩子是否應該讀yw.

我知道一定有人會提醒我, “你吾讀, 大把人爭著讀”

若然有yw家長願意分享, 請pm我. 我樂於洗耳恭聽.

I don't know how many students with similar situation. I am not sure if 生氣 is an extreme case...

YW is one of aggressive schools in HK. There are lots of awards for different students (e.g. for good performance on academic, sports and music, creative competitions or projects, etc.). I think the students have great sense of achievement there. Once boy has passed the 3rd interview and got offer, I think the boy is smart enough to be a winner of one competition at least. Be confident in your boy!

BTW, for my son’s situation, most of teachers are full of patience and professional on particular subjects….

For the experience of the school, I have quite positive feelings.  My son is the first year of DSS and promote to P.4 this Sept.  We witnessed that the school underwent the searching process in the beginning.

The teaching material is a bit loaded and overkill for P.1-2.  The syllabus was Totally new comparing to the old YW's.

It is give and take exercise and a collaboration between school and parents.  The school gives what you are expecting yet parents should part in the process, to bring up with the kid.

There is no free lunch that the school gives you miracle and did magic on a brilliant kid with lazy parents.

My son's academic performance  managed to stay in the middle of the class and we did not feel any pressure from school or being neglected at all.  The school would offer lots of opportunity to project the kid's talent and the matter is on parents if they want to participate.

Play hard and work hard are YW spirit.

Agreed! 我認同學校同家長教育理念要配合, 可以話係學校同家長都要比適當資源個小朋友, 加上小朋友要配合先有甘嘅成績....
其實, 每個月D小朋友見到自己入左"英雄榜"都不知幾開心, 叫做Win Win雙嬴喇....

甘做係好common,  間間都會, 總之, 自己學生攞獎就計數以表示自己學生質素佳, 同埋示意你知,學生呢D才能係同教學或多或少有關, 學校或多或少算有D功勞.

This is a term "Collaboration".  It takes both efforts from school and parents.  My son is YW boy and a name in 英雄榜 is a signature of pride.  Parents like it, kids like it and school likes it.  

My son won few medals in major "Olympian Math" competition out of the school.  He is not school team but won the prize.  At the end of the school presentation, he was awarded a certificate.  

My son felt sense of achievement as his math skill was recognised.  This is how the confidence building.  In recent term, he was invited to be the school Olympian Math Team Rep.  We can now save the training cost as the school would train him in future.

This is win win win situation.  My son shoulders the YW boy's name and so does the school counting on the student.
