校長已轉了好幾年, 大仔時代是舊校長, 細仔時代是新校長.

我覺得無論那一個也是為學校為學生的.

以下是兩仔的比較, (只能比較一年級, 因細仔只是P1):

大仔時代:
(1) 我放工回到家中, 他早已做完功課了.
(2) 英文用傳統的 Longman text book.
(3) 數學一向比較刁鑽
(4) 老師好忙

細仔時代:
(1)  我放工回到家中, 他已做完了書寫功課, 但卻多了朗讀家課. 讀完要家長簽名.
(2) 英文用phonics (RWI) + grammar.  舊校長時代的某一年已轉用了phonics (RWI) 來教英文, 但當時一年級像沒有加grammar.  現在用phonics 教再加grammar.
(3) 數學仍然刁鑽, 現在也是.
(4) 老師更忙 (因試一次過留電話, 老師開完會覆我時已差不7時了.)

其也方面:
- 老師依然很有愛心.
- 同學們依然在多鼓勵, 多讚美環境下長大.
- 功課量比起區內別的學校輕鬆
- 仍然沒有尖子班, 壓力沒有這麼大
- 成績好的同學會重視, 成績不好的同學也不會被忽視

當然我的觀點可能有甩漏, 但比我再揀, 荃灣區一定係  "香港浸信會聯會小學".  : )

Hi Summer, agree with your comments.
Did your elder son be allocated to a good secondary school in the district - TW or Kwai Tsing? Do he like the school and how about the secondary allocations in the primary school? Good?

我大仔仍在浸聯讀高小.

至於派位方面, 每間學校都有成績好與差的學生, 浸聯派位結果, 可到學校綱頁內找到. 我因方便大家曾把結果post 過出來.

有些學校只會公佈成績好同學仔的去向, 其他不公佈.
有些學校只會說有多少%的同學仔派獲首x志願, 這些行為較tricky, 因他們包括一些選band 3為首志願在內的數字.

而浸聯直到今天從不隱瞞任何學生的派位結果.

因浸聯沒有直屬中學, 個人認為浸聯學生眼光會闊一點, 有很多人都會成功跨區, 近這兩年有同學入讀聖保羅男女中學, 拔萃男書院, 英華女學校, 英華書院, 德望學校, 浸信會呂明才中學, 林護中學, ...

區內則較多人入讀荃官, 可風, 何傳耀, 王少清等.

Hi Summer, I also will highly recommend 香港浸信會聯會小學 as it is a very good primary school. I think your elder son should be studying in P4, otherwise, you should get a detailed list of secondary school allocations which will let you more understanding about selecting secondary schools. For example: 聖保羅男女- 1st & 3rd in P6; 林護-ranked within top 16 in P6 in 09/10 and top 18 in 10/11; 浸信會呂明才- 3 pupils were top 28 in P6 in 09/10; 男拔-he is very outstanding in Squash; 英華-he is very outstanding in musical instrument.... That means the 浸聯的學生were outstanding and reconigised

If you are a "tiger mother/father", I'd suggest you may consider to attend some of your ideal secondary schools' Admission Briefing / Open Days with your son when P5 as you may not able to attend those when P6 (因撞時間), also let you son as possible as he can get some certificates and be school team member like swimming, 奧數 etc. which will have some helps. However, academic is the most important, work hard with your sons especially in 1st and 2nd 呈分試(P5 2nd term and P6 1st term)

Very appreciated your opinions to let other parents in 浸聯 to know more. Very agree 荃灣區一定係 "香港浸信會聯會小學".

謝謝你的建議, 這些提議相信對大家都有益處.

我不算是虎媽, 仔仔成績好一般, 升中派位隨遇而安, 盡了力便算了. 尤其是男孩子, 一般會較遲開竅, (好亞Q吧!)

我很同意妳的說法: "有些學校只會說有多少%的同學仔派獲首x志願, 這些行為較tricky, 因他們包括一些選band 3為首志願在內的數字." 我阿仔的班主任也是甘同我地講, 建議我地選B2, 正因他想做妳所講的, 但跟據往年的年資料, 阿仔成績是B1&可以派去B1中學. 所以建議家長不可盡信老師.

我也很欣賞妳話:"派位隨遇而安, 盡了力便算了." 希望 your sons 將來能獲派心儀的中學啦!
