I always advise my friends, the most critical 3 submitted exam results is the first one. The 1st and 2nd exam results (TROL) for 2 self-discretion places, all 3 results only for lucky draw (District Rank Order List).

唔介意我加入吧,據我所知,教育局只會為中學提供一次Territory Rank Order List(第一及第二次呈分試),而且這個list只包括該中學的所有申請人的相對名次,亦能趕及於自行收生收表後(1月尾)送出.

聖保羅男女中學收生是typical example.  SPCC每年11月招生,分兩條line:
1.School Nomination Scheme/Young Talents Scheme - 你囝囝好叻仔屬於這個scheme.
2.General Admissions.

Scheme(1)面試在12月中,亦根本無需要用TROL來做shortlist,因為學校推薦巳經是成績保證,而Gen Adm(2)在2月初寄出面試信,這裹的申請才需要用TROL來做shortlist.所以如果不想參與统一派位去靠運氣,第一次和第二次呈分試都是最重要,佢哋是自行和直資的入場券.

If my memory is correct, 5 years ago only have one interview date and not two. (Any parents can confirm that? It's history, it doesn't matter.)

Nevermind, I just illustrated an example to explain the form ranking status and very critical for DSS application.

redkoni's explanation and clarification are correct and need special attention for other parents. SPCC has two routes nowaday.

部份學校只會係成績表上show頭十名既名次，10名以外就靠家長主動問老師，但有d學校亦只會答：「佢大概考幾多至幾多左右」而唔會講實係第幾囉！

我亞女間學校都係只肯講大概考第幾, 除非全級第一/全班頭三名有CERT外, 其他人都唔知考第幾.

但我覺得比我知考第幾, 我先至知重有幾多人我要追家麻, 間間學校每年派BAND1的%都唔同, 有d差到20%, 有d勁到有70%+, 我知考第幾先有目標麻.

Class ranking vs form ranking.

My son's school had 4 classes, so should have 4 nominations. I know some schools will nominate the top 4 of the form, because some classes are elite classes.
