Last year, I chose to buy the Textbook earlier and asked my daughter to read the Chinese History and Chinese Textbook by herself while I went to work in the daytime. She recited the historic dynasty timeline too.
After work, I taught her vocab of Geography and History. I just taught 1 to 2 units because she takes time to acquire new things.
She has to prepare for dictation of vocab during dayitme as well. This saves her much work after September indeed.
I shared my experience because you may do some other things instead of wasting the valuable summer holidays.
1 No child likes attending tutorial class, then it is a waste of time.
2 To be frank, yr husband is right, the quality is poor,
3 As it is pre-teaching course, nobody is going to be responsible for anything. No exam no quiz, they usually let the students copy the answers directly from the blackboard in case of English RC.
In short, both the teaching staff and the pupils are not serious enough, thus downgrading the effect or result,
4 In this way, you are doing some alternative preparations which needs no money.
