英基七成學生的家長，至少一方是香港永久居民，唐家成昨多次說英基是服務香港學生，並非國際學校。他表示，三年任期內會向教育局爭取增加資助，「加資助梗好，學費就唔使加。」對於家長組織質疑協會豪租太古海景寫字樓作總部，行政總裁杜茵妮租住高級服務式酒店，唐家成未有直接回應。
英基又營辦兩所沒有政府資助的獨立私校，即愉景灣智新書院和馬鞍山啟新書院，兩校財政出現赤字，擬於新學年分別加費 6.6%及 5%。杜茵妮昨重申，兩校歸「英基教育服務」（ ESL），但財政與英基學校協會分開，將分 20年收回給兩校的建校貸款。
杜茵妮表示，為應付特殊教育需要的學生入學要求，計劃增加約 50個這類學額，由於這類學生學費與健全學生一樣，需增數百萬元經費，正尋求政府資助。

我唔知道芵基係咪國際學校,我只係想講最近因為我家要搬回來香港, 所以我最近申請了芵基.但在云云學校中,芵基給我的卬象是最差, ADMISSION DEPT的人態度很差, 相比其他的學校,他們的員工覺得自己高高在尚, 我交了800元的報名費及文件,音訊全無,後來我再打電話給他們的ADMISSION,他們說現在無位,態度悪劣.  我覺得一間學校請什麼人就代表一間學校的質素,所以我己不打算放兒子在這間學校.

esf 首選不是香港小朋友, 但他們用的人香港政府的錢。這的確是不公平的。

cat2 的小朋友入小學的機會很少，我今年都申請了esf小學, 因為是cat2, interview都無。打去問admission officer, 他們很似政府的人。

esf的小學學學費,$6000元, 上到中學要$9000多。比起其他學校都不是太平宜。

ESF was established for historical reasons when there were a lot of British people working for government etc.  What I understand is it is governed by a separate law and not under the supervision of EMB (or whatever) and enjoys government subsidies.  I read its financial reports years ago.  It had many many good properties on hand.  If ESF keeps these properties till now either their book values have gone up and earn decent rental income or the staff are having excellent quarters.

The scandals re luxurious lunches etc years ago, the quarter of the principal and their office raise concerns.  I think these concerns are fair if the tax payers are subsidizing it.  

It is now claiming it is not an international school.  Hey, why does it still have Cat 1 Cat 2?  Why locals have lower priority?

No, I won't put my kids in this school neither.

至於有網友話 admission 的問題，年年都有人話 d reception 差，呢 d 野，通常好主觀。在無面試機會，甚至名落孫山的情形下，家長本身可能會較心急心煩，覺得 reception 幫唔到忙。但其實人地只係 reception 的職員，無謂遷怒於人。

只是優先比不懂中文的小朋友讀

We all know that ESF central administration staff are not good, but the teachers are generally good.
Most students are local HK permanent residents, no matter they are Chinese or not.  Govt should increase the subsidy as it has been frozen since 2003 while the no. of students have increased by 25%.  In the recent 6 years, school fees have increased by 30% and in fact many expats have moved back to their countries due to the steep increase in school fees.

總之，而家個新聞的重點，就係因為 subsidy 多年凍結，應該是時候提高，就係咁

如果為 subsidy，而令非 esf 家長不滿，我真係冇野好講。
香港政府比緊錢資助的，何只 esf ？ 基本上本地教育就係有資助的，不過，大把人唔駛錢都唔讀，如果你當 esf 如其他的直資，會唔會冇咁不憤？
直資都係囉政府錢，但亦有權選學生，年年都大把人考唔到直資，係唔係又嘈嘈嘈？
(我唔想同你又 argue esf 和直資有幾唔同，我自係用黎做比喻)

有無家長知點解RC/DC同其他ESF的學費為什麼只是相差數百元, 話埋RC都係私立但ESF有政府津貼?
