Ok, let's talk about this, purely personal idea. No hard feeling.
SMKEN, in your first article,
"...不要說游泳池, 不知何時動工, 連最基本的圖書館都未開, 還有操場只有幾個籃球架, 幾張長凳, 提過會美化校園, 得過講字..."
SMKEN, in your second article,
"...辦一間新校, 學校是否應該有一筆足夠的資金, 用作購買新校各樣設備、設施及配套,來配合教學、來配合學生享有正常的學校生活及環境嗎?
不是依靠收學費才有錢買新校各樣設備, 咁荒謬嗎? ..."
I think your first article actually answered the questions in your second article.
I believe every new school should have a capital at start, enough to pay for the running cost and the required "設備、設施及配套,來配合教學、來配合學生享有正常的學校生活及環境". But if i understand your first article correctly (which i responded to), what you complaining were "游泳池, 圖書館 and 美化校園". Do you think these are the basic facilities a starting capital should cover?
How many schools in HKG run their own swimming pool?
All the schools in HKG have their own library? is library a basic facility all the schools MUST have? Can we expect a new school's library filling up with all kinds of books in it's first year? Could other successful schools in HKG do that in their first year?
I think I can leave "美化校園" alone without making a comment.
LA has fulfilled its promise--- "a good teaching team". Look at how many experienced, enthusiastic, local and expat teachers we have in the LA. For me, this is the most important thing! And the very reason I choose LA for my kid.
I believe it doesn't come cheap though, but the school got the priority correct. Now it needs money for other things.
Sorry about the "NICAM" thing, no chinese input in my computer, have to use "cut and paste".
And SMKEN, i have read through other articles you wrote in the Kingdom. You have my full respect and I feel your passions in the LA. I am really glad that my kid has your kid as school mate.
Let's build LA together. |
