Can you tell me how / where to apply and the deadline?  Is the competition fair to participants or money-oriented?

Last year, I heard from a friend that her daughter did not get to the top 3 prize and complaint about the organisation for unfair treatment.  Her daughter only got a merit award.

Her mum believed that her daughter should be the first one.  Sound terrible!  As she was still in kindergarten where the parents can join inside the competition classroom.  I guess this is what she really means.. she thought it was bias..

Did your kid participate this year?  How's the results?

我個囡係小二生, 所以家長無得入去睇, 你話公平與否, 我就唔清楚, 但望到入面係有兩個評判! 她得第三. 評語寫得好好, 分數有九字tim, 囡囡都有說第二名朗誦得好過第一, 但呢啲好主觀!

I agree with you that sometimes it's not very "fair" as in SOME cases in this competition there is only ONE judge. Even the late comers, and those who perform just ok, can get a small prize while some who performed really well can't.

But afterall, this type of competition (speech, music) is always very subjective (even more subjective when there is only one judge from what I saw). So, just treat it as a training for your kid to recite and don't expect a prize. I am very proud of the kids who can recite and face the crowd already, although I am disappointed by the result myself.

But it is definitely not money making competition since it is organized by a Bible publisher, and they have very very cheap application fee. I think they can't make money out of it!

We have just finished the K1 speech competition last Saturday.. it was great!  This time round, the judges are into pronounciation more than expression.  I saw the overall champian is very much to do with the clear and loud pronounciation.
