St Cat - 2011-2012- P1 offer on hand - Thanks

I am not sure how true.  But this is what I heard from an ex-SC mother.  Her son is now in DBSPD P3 and told me that roughly top 10% kids in SC can get in DBSPD or DGJS.  
btw, my son will be SC student in the coming Aug/Sept.

Perta, we as the parents never know the answer, right? We are not the Principal.

St. Cat has so many students, some has good offer(s), some may not. Even we've got a lots of good references from SC K3 students or graduates, this may or may not apply to ours too. The most important things are the performance of our kids.

No matter which kinder you are studying, we still need to work hard with our kids.

我相信 St. Cat 媽媽不是不想分享，只是有些已經有 dss / private school 收了以後，已經很少上呢個 forum chat，因為已經沒有需要了，對吧?!

從我之前在此細閱的 threads，我可以講好些 st. cat 小朋友已有好好的 offer，如 dgjs, spcc, cky, tsl, dbsps, aps, sfa, hkuga, kts, rc.... 我個女的同班同學好多亦已有 offer (或多過一個 offer) 在手，大抽獎只是例行工事。但你話 exactly 有多少小朋友已被 dss / private 取錄，又是否因為學校名氣，相信連 st. cat 校長都不可能有 100% 肯定的答案。

如果只為學校名氣而選擇給你的小朋友去讀 kinder，我想你可能要重新考慮為何一定要是 st. cat (因為一定有比 st. cat 更出名的 kinder)，又或是 st. cat 是否適合你的小朋友。

我相信每個父母都想給子女最好。但最重要的是，你任何的編排，都要與他 / 她同行，一同開拓前路。並勉之。

其實SC K3 每年都幾佰人, 一定有人考得好, 同樣一定有人考得唔理想, 每個小朋友嘅吸收能力和表達能力都不一樣, 冇可能全部出來嘅成績都一樣好, 但SC一定係一間好幼稚園. 作個參考, 今年只是我個女個班(英普), sure有3個DGJS, 最小1個DBS and 最小1個 St. Paul Co-ed., 仲有好多都有唔錯嘅offers, 比例都算幾好, 但我們家長都係圍內知道便算了, 不會也不想四周圍問人家, 喂! 你考到邊間呀? 我個小朋友考到乜乜乜喎, 唔會常掛在口邊，只會在被取錄時一刻與人分享，一刻開心過後就繼續默默耕耘, 為小一作好準備.

只是我自巳嘅個人經驗, 面試最最最重要一定係小朋友嘅修養, 禮貌, 面試時表現, 要主動, 有好嘅學術及常識水平, 反應快, 咁就好大機會得 (e.g. KTS, APS, SFA, PC etc...), but for DGJS, 就要加埋極好嘅K2下學期成績表, 一個有份量portfolio, 相同宗教, 再加點運氣吧!!!!! DGJS 2nd interview時, Mrs. Dai 係一定要睇”正本”成績表 (我相信SC在校長心目中唔錯), 再詳細睇份4頁紙portfolio, 所以這兩樣在決定時都是有用的. 如果有宗教的, 常常禱告, 主是會為你作出最合適的……感謝主!!!!!!!

我有St Cat offer，很想讓小孩讀St Cat，不過要衡量很多事。

If you want to get any meaningful analysis then find a St Cat parent.  Each year St Cat will host a seminar and give a summary of how many students went to which P1 etc.  So it is no secrecy at all it is just not appropriate to post in the forum.

英普班只在Norfold Road Campus。 Essex Road Campus 只有英粵班。我估考K1 DSS，
Essex 不比 Norfold 差。


P1 interview 用廣東話比PTH 的機會多!

其實很多幼稚園都很好，但和小學相比，小孩在幼稚園的時間真的不是很多!

你不說真的不知道原來雅息士道是英粵班，羅福道是英普班。多謝提供資料！

請問你的小孩是英粵還是英普班？整體來說你覺得St Cat物有所值嗎？你覺得St Cat課程設計如何？小孩能以簡單的英文對話嗎？
請提供意見分享吧！

I beleive DGJS means Norfold Road Campus has both E/P and E/C class but Essex Road Campus has only E/C class.  

For P1, I think which kindergarten the child is from only accounts for a small part of the interview process.  So, we just try our best to pick a right school for our child.

I think how to choose a suitable primary school for the kid is much muchmore complicated as the kid will spend 6 years (whole day) in thatschool!......plus peer influence as well......it's so  worrying!

No, the dual "ban ju yam" only exist in K1.
In K2 and K3, the English teacher only go to each classroom for oral and story. One English teacher serves many classes, unlike in K1.

其實K1雙班主任同K2K3只有中文班主任嘅英文上課時間其實無少到噃，而且都係native english teacher，又有teaching assistant, 唔知有乜問題?

原本過哂面試，都好耐無上BK，咁啱一上就 ...

問題係如果家長唔配合，就好難講?
請問你所指的配合，具體是什麼呢?
