A good friend of mine chose St Paul last year.  Her daughter is very smart but she doesn't like DGS style which is quite competitive and proud.  
My friend checked the F.5 results from both schools in the past few years and found out that: DGS has some very top students who draw much attentions from the press and the public.  But their overall results may not be good as St Paul.  St Paul has 19.XX%  6A students the previous year which means that most of their students are very top.
She got DGS interview but St Paul had chosen her so she didn't go for DGS first round.

若你用overall去講，DGS是1st而SPCC是2nd
DGS 整体優良率及6科14分成績都稍高於SPCC!
尖子比例spcc稍高是合理
因6A以上多是理科生，男生在此方面平均比女生較佳!
這亦反映整体文理科成績DGS較SPCC平均!

My friend's daughter in SPCC F.1 can sleep early every night, 10:30.  She told me many DGS girls sleep late because of projects and homework.

SPCC will held an academic test for all pre-F1 students.  For the top ones, they give full subsidy.  Others may get 1/4 to 3/4.  They will also rank it every year and give out subsidies accordingly.

SPCC收你囡囡是因她有實力,衷心地再次恭喜你(就算你現不打算入讀),我覺得這是對你囡囡實力最好証明,成績好固然,但自信是取勝的關鍵.
我果同事,佢囝囝係數資優,總括成績係全班最好,但我地班同事覺得小朋友性格有點....(似我同事,同事當年都係"公開考試高手"),(不是jealous)小朋友語文不太突出(同事雖然本港大學出身,但D英文真係...好一定無佢份),性格有D曲高和寡,唔係好有禮貎,連我地清潔阿姐都係甘評價.
我都想幫吓其他家長索吓料,但又唔想比果同事拒絕,所以都係唔問同事面試如何,無謂 .
你小朋友英語/普通話好好架?(希望你不要介意我甘直接)有幾個考官呢?

以前聽 bk d 家長係甘講, 都以為係真.但自從識人係paul paul裡面教, 講過一句, "窮人佢地唔收o既!" 怕且一個半個會有, 仲要好outstanding.

1, 一般教師應該唔知學生家底........
2, 家長日去睇下d家長咪知囉.....
3, 識個家底好普通(家庭月入我估15000~20000)都後補收佢個女, 而且個女仔唔係太標青, 小六屋村學校10/18x.

SPCC由申請表內.面試,完全無特別要求填寫或提供家長職業.收入之類資料,何來會'"窮人佢地唔收o既!" 之誇張傳言. 所以有時可信否真的要諗吓. 說到底要考慮哪校比較適合囡囡,兩者都各有千秋! BEST WISH!

I know 2 studying secondary and 3 studying primary.  They are not very rich.  2 secondary's parents are not professionals and only one of the primary's parent is a doctor (but she was failed when she was P4 and she was accepted when P5).  I think they will look at their accademic.

but DGS' compus is so beautiful and also one concern is dating with boys

Agreed !  The DGS new campus is very pretty and tempting.  But SPCC is classical and provides a lot of resources and support to the students.  Both schools have a lot of good qualities and that is why they are so competitive.

But it was heard that DGS students are more assertive, or agressive, and SPCC students too humble ?

So maybe we can choose according to the needs of the child - let her learn to be more humble at SPCC or more assertive at DGS.  
What do you think ?

好少人提新校舍有可能有本地生寄宿設施，印象中SPCC之前有介紹過，未必所有人有份，不過都好有吸引力。
