Kwik 數學好唔好?

想幫將升小1的囡囡找math course,請問kwik math好唔好?見係用單手計數,看似好快好神奇,但又有人話kwik唔正統,對上小學學數學有負面影響,請比意見~ Thanks!

"學生在不同階段的數學科中學習重點如下：
1.幼稚園(K2-3)： 學數算(counting) 。及少許計算(calculation) 。
2.初小(P1-P4) ：學習計算(calculation) 。
3.高小(P5-P6) ：解難題(即文字體) 。

簡要分析坊間教授的數學特點和內容如下：

1. 公文數：主要是利用大量習作訓練計算(Caculation) 。 嚴格來說，不是課程，是習作。

2. 學林數：主要教授中文文字體(解難題) 。

3. 珠心算：主要用影像算盤學習學前簡單計算， 並不能計算小學生全面數學。

4. Enopi： 英文數學。家長要考慮是否吻合自己小朋友校內課程。

5. 奧數： 奧林匹克精神，精益求精。真正奧數，超越文字體。五年級以上，有數學天份者可報讀。 (五六年級報讀要小心，用太多時間學 奧數而影響呈分試就得不償失。)

6. KWIK Maths：教導學生用方法計算(calculation)。因為用方法計算的原故，計算能力比一般學生三、四陪。"

I have also done some searching on Kwik maths.

I have attended its introduction, demonstrated by the Kwik maths teacher.

It is amazing that some kids can do the calculation so quick and accurate by using its method.

Kwik maths has its own unique 指法 同口"缺". You need to practice in order to memorize.

However, some mama whose kid learnt kiwi maths pointed out the followings:

1. once you learnt it but not using it, then you will forgot.

2. some school (esp. primary) not allowing kids using fingers while doing the calculation. In this case they cannot apply kwik maths..

3. school's teaching calculation by steps using 直式, however kwik maths 係打橫計, 一計就係答案, which is different from their homework - needs to show the steps.

So you may need to think about this if you take kwik maths or not.

睇完你地既comments及其他forum既討論,我得出既結論係kwik算係一種"捷徑"/"技術"以快而準去計算,但並不正統,因為kwik並非正統數學學習~

不過我囡囡上了kumon年幾有多,我真的想轉下,所以我會讓囡囡(now k3)嘗試上1/2個 term(s)至summer,當kwik math係一種興趣班(eg 法文),到適當既時候(p1)再選擇其他合適數學課程~

其實什麼數學課程適合for p1既小朋友呢?

好唔好, 真係因人而異. 我阿女k3 開始學, 幸運地她係運用得比較好的之一. k3至一年班已經學左千位數及小數 加,減, 及加減運算. 當中教文字題, 所以, 上左小學, 可以煩少數學科 , 我個人認為 KM係比較貼近學校的課程. 但亦有部分一齊學的同學仔, 覺得幫助不大. 我女係好自覺地運用在平時功課上, 同時對數字好敏感, 可能KM比賽年年有獎, 激發她對數學的興趣. 但我後來沒有比佢學乘, 除, 因為我覺得P3, P4 之後唔應該只追求計數快. 好好彩, 我女學校四年班開始有奧數訓練, 所以P4 佢開始學奧數.

有樣唔好就係佢一計數就會不自覺地用手指,我希望佢可以心算.

我想佢上Kwik都係唔係一味想佢快,而係想令佢對數字有興趣同敏感,當然計得快對於佢初上p1做hw,數學科快手d,可以減輕佢既"workload",我既初步都係見步行步,而我都係想佢係kwik學+-,乘同除就唔會係kwik學,因為坊間真係有好多唔同既math course,學緊kumon,但日日做,唔係my girl's style,加上就快p1,到時唔想p1 + kumon hw一齊黎,聽人講奧數/學林/數研etc都好好,不過我囡囡e+k3,我想佢學好+-先去文字題~
物kwik有文字題咩?

我女都學過, 學到+/-混算, 老實講,最初是好神奇, 又快又準, 不過上小學真係好難用得到, 你1-3個point完全中晒.學數是求理解&運用, 唔係見到數字出個答案, 當中不求甚解.

Yes.. so finally I choose Enopi. Apart from calculation, also train him to "think".

我都唔打算比小朋友學x /.  會老考度慮學林或奥數.

可以咁講啦:

Kwik係一種可以令運算速度加快的方法.
由於數學有好多不同的層次,加減乘除只係整個數學金字塔最底嗰層,而又係最重要的一層.

思考層就係Base On運算層,所以就算小朋友理解題目無問題,但係運算速度慢,考試測驗都會唔夠時間完成.

Kwik Maths就可以幫小朋友把運算時間減少,花更多時間去理解題目,令答題更準確.

其實小朋友學Kwik Maths到後期,可以唔係陏手指都用到,佢哋以經將隻手記咗入腦,好犀利架!

Olympia math is more all rounded.  My on is p3 and he has been learning Olympia math since p1. I don't teach him school math anymore since he secures 95 or above in school.  

Beside, there are regional competition yearly in hk and china. The medal will be passed to his school and present to my son during school ceremony.

Hi smartcar,

Are you referring to the 華夏杯?  They are organising one open competition which will be held in 深圳 in this Easter.  They only invite those who are awarded for the first three brands for the exam taken in Jan this year.  

Just would like to have a quick count - how many parents decided to go?  It's kind of expensive.  HKD900+ for a person and one parent must escord the kid (of course, I dared not go to with my kid...) but too expensive...
