From my last year's experience, the student profile need not be colorful but should be simple and easy to read.
A student profile is needed when you find that the standard application form of school is not enough to show all important information of your kid. If one page is not enough, it is better to make it 2 side printed i.e. only one sheet of student profile is presented tog. with your application form. Don't over-do it. You need to attach the copies of certificates, but some of the schools do not collect them until interviewing process. So it is better to use a clip to hold them.
