True Light (Tai Hang) vs St Clare's

Both schools accepted my daugther, I really don't know how to choose.  Appreciate your advice as want to release the seat for others.
Both schools are 直升 primary (private) and 津貼 secondary schools.  
However Tai Hang primary is Chinese while St Clare's is English.  Both Secondary are English.  Would English as teaching medium a better choice?
Any comment to both schools?  Thanks.

我囡囡都係有這兩間offer, 其實都差不多, 你也考慮地點, 各有各好處, 真光就比較傳統, 中文出名, 我以前係向度讀過商科, 品行都ok, 不過我知道現在大坑真光無以前咁出名, st clare就真係唔清楚, 我個人就喜歡st clare多些, 感覺都好純樸, 加上英文小學, 不過, 我都係會interview埋聖心和聖保祿再決定!

We are on the same boat.  I have also applied SH and SP.  I live in Tin Hau so True Light Tai Hang is really closer to me.  If SP accepted our girls, I think we won't need to panic.

Not really understand, St Clare's is private primary school, why can't we do lucky draw.  I though 直資小學 will not allow instead.  Did I misunderstand?

恭喜您, 如果近來說, 真光可能好些, 因為接送方便, 有咩事又可以容易照應, 加上真光都係一間傳統學校, 老師都好有心去教小朋友, 我亞囡係超大b, (dec07), 上年真係好多較好的學校(特別灣仔區), 都唔收, 所以我諗住比佢in多一年, 如果有更好的學校就會轉, 雖然暫時我係鍾意st clare, 但如果st clare真係無得大抽獎, 咁我都要諗諗, 唔係就要交足小學, 中學學費, 都要考慮吓, 加上大抽獎有些學校也不會不及直資, anyway, 諗咁多, 等埋聖心和聖保祿再決定, good luck, 我都係住灣仔附近!

Hi,

I saw lots of ppl waiting for the result from SH and SP before making decision. Actually I have only applied SH and I personally like TL more than St Clare.

Can anyone share why/how is SH better than TL?

直資肯定係唔可以大抽獎, 係政府規定, 當去直資註冊時(即接受offer)就要簽undertaking放棄政府派位(無論去到任何階段, 已經有位都要即時吐返出黎)
至於私校, technically私校唔可以阻止家長去抽獎, 不過私校會同edb聯絡, 將已註冊私校既學生名單交去edb, edb會發信問家長是否繼續參加抽獎, 如果yes就會通知私校....而私校點去處置呢d學生(out出黎? 放落waitlist? 無所謂?) 就係私校自由
所以考到私校後, 家長搏唔搏大抽獎, 就要唸清楚, st clare's俾唔俾, 我唔敢講, 聽講係俾的, 我當年case係: 我去註冊, 職員俾張紙我睇, 話如果抽獎就會取消學生學位, 我話ok, 但之後又有家長話打去問, sc話可以抽....anyway我無抽, 有人有抽, 有人抽到好, 走左, 有人抽得唔好, 留低繼續讀....不過最後我都係叩門成功, 去左另一間直資, 無讀sc

Can you share if your view about St Clare's Kindergarten?  I'm concern whether the teachers have good follow up with individual kids.  Also the curriculum of language.  Do you feel it is a good school overall?  What is your view between Chinese (TL) / English (SC) primary school?  Thx.

呀, 唔好意思令你誤會
我女係真光幼稚園的, 你問我, 我話一流! (各方面, 家校合作, 老師經驗, 校風各樣), 不過語言的確係CONCERN, 聽講而家教深左了, 當時連英文書都無! 所以小學我一早去考SC, 放棄左TL個位, 所以我至試過註冊左SC又決定抽唔抽獎既情況
但最心儀的, 又唔係SC, 我想活動教學, 所以努力叩門另一間活動教學既直資(考左不過WAITLIST所以要叩門), 最後入左, 所以TL同SC 2間我都無去

I think TL is much better than SC.  Perhaps, two KG will not have big differences.  But TL's PS and SS are much better than SC. Don't be distracted by the so-so English teaching.  It depends very much on teachers.
