Lamtin Mama - Seek for advise, and share some feelings

Hello all pretty ladies, I live in Lamtin. Most of my friends are not living in this area and they are not interested to discuss KG application with me, so I am hoping for some advices here. (Thank you!!)
My son is 2008 Oct boy, his character is cheerful and open minded, but he is about 6-9 months deferred in speaking.  He is in nursery now, so i think by Aug 2011, he should be able to catch up with his friends.  He received offers from:
Lamtin LingLiang -- Nice teachers/ capmus, but seems not famous (sorry I'm shallow).
St. Nicolas -- Nice teacher, small class, relatively famous, but campus is old and need to take school bus..
Lamtin Creative -- I can't tell much from open day and actually not many comment from BK about this KG...please comment.
Lamtin Kam Lai -- Seems old fashioned, but every kwun tong and lamtin mothers says this is a good school since curricular is difficult and learned to write early (is this good?).  I also haven't had much feeling about this KG from interview.
Soka -- campus is good, school fee is relatively low. i think due to short interview time, I don't have much feeling about this school.
In terms of primary school allocation, which school has advantages?  Frankly speaking, i care about this mostly.
Although I seems not passionate about Creative, Kam Lai and Soka, but I don't want my personal feelings to blindly choose a KG without hearing advises from other parents. (mainly because I'm not smart), I hope You could give me some tips for choosing a suitable KG for my son.
Share some feeling
It's early december now, I guess many parents already received reply from different KGs.  As parents, of course we want to give the best to our children.  Some children received many many offers, while some are not so favourable due to many reasons.  But I believe - if the school didn't accept the application, it is really their lost only!  And, when we look at our children growing up healthily and happily, it is the most important blessing!  I think it is a first lesson to our children - no worries, be happy!

如果小學係你覺得最重要既野, 咁你隨便選一間kg都ok.
因為:
1. 如果你想要官/津小, 最主要係你有幾多分(自行)同住係邊一區(大抽獎).
2. 如果叩門/考直資私校, 我又唔覺你所選的kg特別有優勢 (我唔sure st. nicolas).
其實你當初點解選這些kg, 你將這些kg的優點再看一次, 睇下邊間o岩你囝囝多d.

Have you enrolled Cannan Kindergarten (Laguna City)? I think the syllabus is just fit (not too difficult and not too easy).

My daughter was also born in Oct 2008 as well. She now studies in Cannan with his bro. We can share more info in finding KG....

My Son born in Aug 08 and we are living in Lam Tin too.  He is studying in Cannan Pre-nursery now.  I applied some kindergarten for K1 in 2011.
1. Soka - Rejected
2. Yau Yat Chuen - Accepted pm
3. Alliance - Interview later
4. Munsand - Waiting result

Thanks for your advise!! After spending hours in collecting opinions and information from different webs and books, perhaps I will choose St. Nicolas!!  Hope that I'm RIGHT la!!

i was too late last year to apply their pre-nursery, and their 2011/2012 K1 application will not start before 15/12.

Sure!  I was not a fan at BK, but now I find it is a good place for parents to share and exchange news!  Very good lei!!

Hello yeungyeung, Yau Yat Cheun is a gd kg (i heard), will you take this PM offer?

You only apply 4 KGs? Did you apply any KG in Lamtin, such as Kam Lai and LingLiang?

LingLiang is actually quite tempting, campus and teachers are good, but i'm concern about primary allocation, so I dunno...

i have special feeling for DBSPD (my cousin studied there and I observed it is a good one)

secondly, La salle, thirdly ESF school.

I hope I'm not dreaming la!!

睇左你的心頭好，再睇番你報的 kg ，覺得有 d 奇怪。其實你係咪對升小方法唔太理解呢？

如果 dbspd 係你的 first choice，你所列的 kg 似乎都無乜優勢 or 助力。係得 St. Nicolas 好少少。

如果你想入讀 la salle，小朋友的爸爸係唔係舊生？或者直接 d 講，自行收生你有幾多分？20分都未必入到喎...... 想搏大抽獎的話，你要搬屋先得。

esf 的話，其實你有無報 esf 的 kg 呢？無的話，其實上佢小學的機會係打左個大大的折頭

i've applied those KGs that are supposed to 'help' to apply DBSPD but failed... and, I'm really planning to move to KWT, so i can only count on lottery jar... About ESF, i know it is difficult to step in if not promote from KG, but it is still my third option.

I am knowing more and more what I should choose now...

I think Soka and St. Nicholas will be the best choice among all lo..

I also live in Lam Tin (Laguna City).
My son (Oct08) is now studying PN in Learning Habitat (TKO).

As for K1 applications, here are his result -

1. SC - waiting list
2. KV - waiting list
3. Victoria CWB - accepted
4. Soka - rejected
5. York - accepted
6. Munsang- waiting for result
7. HKPS - waiting for result

My original plan to is getting him into Kowloon Tong KGs, but no offer from Soka, SC and KV.

For Victoria, it seems similar as comparing with LH but it is a bit far away.

Still considering should change from LH to Victoria.

Anyone can give me some advice??

I think everyday travelling from Lamtin to CWB is really too far away la...

I think you need to consider:
a) safety and comfort
b) if teachers are nice and kind
c) curricular
d) primary school allocation

I just paid the deposit for Yau Yat Chuen last Sat. At least, we have an offer in hand.  However, I'm still waiting the application notice from Sheng Kung Hui in Central.  Such a wellknown KG in HK side.  Also excellent primary allocation in past years.
