For TSL n SMC, I think they will always say english at recess. As they had around 20-30% non chinese student.

Foe SFA, I really want to know ??? any existing parent can share ??

No, kids from non-Chinese stream speaks English at TSL, say, only 4-5 students in class, usually they are in the same group while those Chinese stream students usually speak Cantonese during recess. Do not expect them doing so if your kid come from local family not from mix couple or non-chinese speaking families

I guess (just guess) that the writing skill of SFA  students is the best. Regarding oral, SMC and TSL almost the same level, may be TSL is a little bit better.....

I want to chose SMC as "one dragon school" no need to worry at P6. The standard is smilar to TSL, even PE class I heard the teacher also speak english. 25 students per class. For P1, chi,eng, math they will divided into 5 group for the
" whole grade ", its sound so good as small class teaching. But I know the homework is very easy at P1-P2, I m afraid my daughter will think too easy...boring ...than become lazy. As I have compared the homework from existing kindergarten to their P1 homework. I think even her K3 homework is harder than their P1 homework. P3 will become harder I know....

For SFA, it is sure a good acadmic school, I think my daughter can afford to study at this kind of school. the only problem is me, I m afraid too busy for the homework, i need to study the primary school again.Compare with SMC, it will more joyfully learning as well as good english  environment and balance syllbus.

How come ??

P1分班唔只4-5個, 平均7個NCS一班。到P2就RANDOM分, 我仔今年有10/11個NCS一班, 但其他班有D只得4-5個。
小朋友講咩語言好難講, 如果佢同NCS好朋友/坐正隔離, 就會自然講英文。唔一定小息就講廣東話。

TSL PE/VS等等閒科都係講ENG, 而TSL都有小班。好似中文堂, NCS小朋友去左第二度上FRENCH, 就會少左D人一齊上堂。去到P2, 數學都會分NCS+基本功差少少既小朋友, 都會轉去第二度上堂。但英文/GS等就成大班一齊上。

are ur son study at P1 now, can u tell me more about SMC ? I really like this school but still strugge between SFA n SMC, that means "traditional" vs " activite + traditiona"l.

1)which thing u like most at SMC ?
2)what is ur consideration when ur son enrolled to this school last year ?

我有一個從九型人格選學校的看法。如你子女是1,8型, SFA 較好. 如弟9型, SMC or TSL 較好

That sounds interesting, my daughter is no.4, but now she is studying happily in SFA, not much homework, can enjoy her time after school, she needs to have time to "hea" .:happy:
I will suggest to choose the school according to the parents' character, not just the children's .
I think SFA is not so horrible.:iloveit:

Comments on TSL's oral standard after meeting boys and girls from this school :
1) very few of them can speak fluent English except those from Non-Chinese streams. i.e. you cannot expect the school curriculum and teachers help to have great improvement on your kids' English oral standard
But
2) They have good writing ability and reading ability, that school can surely ensure the learnings of this aspects..

Tilly, you are one of the rare replies to say SFA is not that horrible, and not many homework. I am still thinking for my son to enter next year, can you tell me more how to tell whether we including parents are perfect match with SFA?

SFA let me down with their Chinglish heavily used on the boards they displayed on the application day to introduce the school to parents.  Shouldn't teachers have the strongest urge to ensure accuracy at all times?
