無錯, 我囡囡一直做既powerpoint功課都無叫過我幫手, 除左打中文字之外(因為學校未教中文輸入法, 我地又無手寫板),  所有電腦操作佢都係係學校學返嚟, 我地自己無教過佢, 有時點用d hot key仲係佢教返我.

I'm now choosing P1 for my younger daughter.  Can anyone advise if SMC is a good school choice?  My elder daughter is now studying in CKY (Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School).  Apart from the different in tuition ($2,xxx vs $5,xxx per month), which school will be better for a "happy" kid?
(Chinese feedback are extremely welcome.  Thanks!)

As I know, Qty of Homework in CKY is much less than SMC.

They focus on reading books.  Also, there are 2 different system between these 2 schools.

CKY - IB
SMC - 334

If you don't want to play the game 334, of couse CKY.

If your elder daughter is studying in CKY, why should you consider another school for your younger one??

Actually, I love CKY (primary section so far).  Just want to look for a "substitution" due to my sudden change of marital status.   Simply don't want to put too much pressure on my own shoulder as a single parent of 2 girls!!

Can SMC compare with CKY?

If money is not the problem for you and you accept  IB, you should choose CKY.
As I know, if your girl wants to learn French at CKY, you have to  pay extra fee.

佢哋教小朋友用電腦做功課，咁咪霸住部腦唔俾我上嚟吹水，睇怕都係要砌多部腦先得

But will your younger daughter feel unfair if you choose SMC due to this reason?! She might not tell you about that but her feeling might not be so nice. Perhaps you should ask her which school she would like more as well.

個人觀點，讀埋同一學校對你來說有很多好處，support u

I thought about the "fair" issue as well.  That's why I'm thinking about should I put my younger to CKY and transfer my elder to other school, perhaps SMC (option 1).  Or, transfer my elder to SMC while my younger will accepted SMC's offer (option 2)?  And of course, both staying in CKY is the best of all (option 3)!!?

有無打算送她們出國？如有，SMC雖然無IB，但你可利用CKY同SMC的學費差額幫你儲多些$$，or投資讀書基金，始終兩個人在香港讀書的成本雖高，卻未及外國高。
另外考慮埋離家的遠近和地理位置，當要參加課外活動時，有機會到黃昏時間，區內的交通便利和治安。
小朋友的意願，尤其是大嗰個，要重新適應有無問題，當然亦要俾佢了解家庭的狀况轉變，最怕情緒受到困擾。
無人可以幫你隨意作决定，我們外人只能透過你提供的資料幫你客觀的分析，亦希望愚見能有助於你，無論點，在這兒的家長，都會支持你所作的決定，就算小朋友將來做唔成同學，話唔定在社會工作時有緣遇上。

Its so nice to hear G-Ma sharing about the shcool suitation, before that I dont know the school will teach them power point and computer knowledge so early. It sounds so great!!
You know, the more I know SMC, I will had more confident.
Because the mood is always Up and Down every day, just like a rollercoaster. One day I like SMC, one day I like SFA...but I know I I like SMC more ..

power point 是今年小四學的. 囡囡上電腦堂的功課, 我也可以在家裡看到. 我地有時到估佢地唔"倒", 原來他們的知識真係好豐富啊!
其實只要上堂留心, 學校所學的知識一定會很多很多! 尤其是外語.....hehe!

Yes, they'll go back to the United States years later.  So, IB or 334 is not really matter for the younger.  By the time the elder is ready for college, we'll all go!!  I just want to know if SMC is a good school in terms of academic, eca (extra-curriculum activities), teachers, classmates... I heard primary section is good.  How about the secondary?

While your elder daughter is old enough, you can discuss about this issue with her . I just guess she doesn't want to change the school because students in CKY are happy. And, I feel CKY is a good stepping stone for your girls to study aboard.
Of course SMC would be a good school too. I believe its sec. school section would be better and better.
I hope you can make a suitable choice for your girls soon. :)
