我們也是啊。

今日作了決定，不會去註冊自行收我個仔間學校，我知道單是阿仔o既同學就有幾個報左但係無收佢地，希望我可以幫到其他人啦。

我地報左8間直資/私小，有1間取錄，2間2nd int，5間reject，已經好感恩了。

The school which has given my son an offer in the discretionary stage is this one:

I don't really care excessively much about his academic development so long as he is willing to do homework, but his personality is my primary focus.

As I mentioned in another thread, my son was accepted by Kau Yan School.  It is a great school on its own, though it has no through-train secondary school.

Why?  Just because it is a prestigious school and it is hard to have a place?

I am an alumnus and my nephew had studied 6 years there (he is in F1 of Wah Yan College by chance now).  I have some insights about the current status of the school and its development over the past few years since I graduated 30 years ago.  I chose it in the discretionary stage only because I had 20 marks and was not sure if my son would get any offers from the other applications.

I remember I had to wake up at 6:45 am in winter (not sunrise yet) when I was studying there for the AM class, and I had to go to bed by 9:30 pm every night.  My parents did not think it was hard for me. :D

My case is a little different - my son only has 20 marks and it is not enough to secure a place for sure.  Though WY was not my favorite, I applied for it in the discretionary stage in case all other applications failed.

Similar as mine, most alumnus of famous school will let their son to expose other school if they have choice.

WY vs KY - case put on hold until further notice

RC vs KY - RC is very traditional, English-based, and has a through-train secondary school; KY has a very good learning environment and conduct of students are very good too, but it has no through-train secondary school.

We will not take part in the lucky draw - don't want to drag on the trauma for 5 more months especially when at least one good school has given an offer to us.

六年之後唔知會點，細路可唔可以咁堅完全無把握，仲有淨係今次搞小一入學都幾乎人都癲，真係唔想我地個仔小六o個陣再搞一鑊，到時我地老左6年，唔知仲有無體力應付(特別係情緒起伏)，只要升中比較有保證，校風OK，學術表現中上，我就於願足矣。

當然，如果你對細路有信心，性格比較進取，亦無妨將目標定高d，不過回報高，風險也相對高d。

至於將命運交俾大抽獎，小弟自問呢幾個月已筋疲力竭，亦唔想將命運完全交俾幸運之神，所以如果有offer o係手就一定唔會諗。

聽日話你知啦，費事萬一改變主意就瘀死。

不過可以分享o下一個有趣o既現象，大部分BK外的朋友都建議我地揀華仁，因為佢有名氣，有直屬中學 (不過直升比率只有六成左右)，校風又唔錯，不過亦有幾位基督徒家長就極力推薦救恩，話佢校風好，教得活，不過升中往績就只係一般。

有少少離題，望各位切勿見怪。

同我講自己o既情況差唔多，不過我唔知RC o既升中安排係點，係咪全部或大部份收番？如果係，佢俾你買個保證，自然就要放棄考外邊；你可以睇o下細路到時成積點再諗要保證定係要挑戰。

另外，要睇你個細路係邊類型，谷得同鍾意做功課就唔怕去RC，活潑o既就應該揀KY。

RC係傳統中學，interviewer話要預左有唔少功課 (有BK家長話每日7-8樣，weekend多左剪報閱報之類)，所以相信比較適合可以坐定定，樂於做功課o既小朋友。
