Winter Uniform - socks

I was told today that the kid should wear the school socks instead of grey long socks.  Can any mum told me if it is the school policy? Do you all buy school socks?

my son wear normal grey long socks only, we did not buy HKPS grey socks. The school was not told us to wear theri socks.

Yes, my girl wear school socks.
School socks are different from those we can buy outside, grey color and have 2 red stripes on each of them.  Recently, school issued a notice to parents informing us to ensure our kids wear "tidy" uniforms to school.

I was told by teachers twice this week, have to change school "new" socks instead of long leg. So, I buy from school...but it's cold in classroom. May also wear "panty hose" inside.

I just bought the new school socks afterward, but I only got size 15cm to 16cm, they are too big to my girls.  Does anyone know if they have smaller size or this is the smallest?

It has been the school policy to have students wearing school socks.  But if it is cold, the school still allows our kids to wear grey stockings.
