The teacher will not ask the parents too many question. Just one or two simple question.

If you select in english interview, it will asked by the NET teacher. So all the interview questions are in english(kid/parents). But the NET teacher is so nice, Don't worry!

And the teacher will introduce their school at end of the interview.

I think if you kid can answer all the questions, it's not a problems for the interview language you select.

Hi charlotte,

My son is in k1 this year, and so far we like the school very much.

His interview from last year was very pleasant.... he had a pretty late interview and i thought he will be very tired, so wasn't really expecting too much from him.  The teacher asked him to put different shaped blocks into the correct slots, and showed him a huge book with pictures and asked him how many apples he sees in that picture.  Also asked him to name plastic fruits on the table.  Then the teacher asked for parent's expectation of the school and introduce the teaching methods for us etc.... it was very relaxing & the teachers & helpers at the school are all very nice.

In his current class, he has 1 cantonese class teacher + 1 native mandarin speaking teacher (for 1.5hrs per day) + 1 native english speaking teacher (for the other 1.5hrs per day) + a helper teacher as well for going to toilet, moving tablets and chiars for activities etc....
The teacher to student ratio is about 1:10, which is very good.

He loves going to school, he comes back and sings songs for me, and count 1-8 in mandarin so far, and really enjoy doing his homework!!

I think a cantonese interview is better for your little one... cos the cantonese teacher can understand english, and really it's not like a cantonese intervew must all take place straightly in cantonese, like if the teacher ask your child to count, and if your child wants to count in english, it should still be ok, cos the teacher can understand english too.  But if you chose an english interview, where the native speaking engligh teacher can only understand english, then if your child suddenly feels like speaking cantonese, then the teacher would not understand.   I think the school is very flexible with the language used for interviews, it's really designed for those kids who can only speak 1 language so they get a fair go at the interview session.

Also, someone asked about the no. of classes...

this year in K1, there's 3 am classes (about 30 kids each) and 2 pm classess (should be about the same?)

I guess it could change depending on how many they take for next year and how many teachers etc.. available?

For school fee, is it same fee for K1 - K3. As some Kln Tong kindergarten, K1 & K2- K3 is different.

個個都話好, 但小學學費太貴. 有無人知有幾貴? 因為入得幼稚園就預了直升, 如不合預算不如早早放手.

Hi pertra,

The kids split into small group activities while in the class, so the cantonese teacher talks to some kids in cantonese while other kids are having english time/ mandarin time.  And they take turns if it makes sense?

So really, they are learning cantonese, mandarin and english every day in the 3hours of class.
