Urgent!! Interview for Box Hill (MOS)

Dear All,

I will bring my baby to Box Hill this Sat. for the interview (my boy applied 2005 Jan term - 2 yrs old class)

What should I prepare for the interview?
What questions will be ask (me and my boy)?

Take it easy.  The interview for 2 years old class is very easy.  Usually the school will give some toys to the children before interview so as to warm up the children.  Then they will play with the children with a doll, asking some simple questions such as where is the nose, where is the hand, month and ears.  May be the teacher will ask the children to give her Apple, organe etc from a basket.  Aslo they will give some wooden bricks to the children to do some matching.  It's not difficult.  They just want to know general ability of the children.  Some school will ask you to fill in a form asking the general habit of your children and who take care of the children.  Some school will not need you to fill in the form but the teacher will ask you instead.  Hope you find the above information useful.

I have been a site visti to boxhill 6 Nov 2004, as I want my daughter to enroll 2005 Jan team, but my girl is already 3 years old la.  I have talked to their representative, they won't interview the kids as they are too small, they will interview you, but I think they will ask you about your believe on education, on educate your kids and so on but not actually test you and your kids..

I like the school very much after the visit and so does my girl.

我個女正在就讀boxhill的nursery班。他們的interview通常會同你傾下計，亦會觀察下個小朋友的行為舉動的，唔係一定會一齊入去，不過係未入去之前他們都會observe個小朋友先。

因為我個女未讀之前上緊他們的playgroup，故她們對她已有一定的印象，所以interview時只是focus問下我野。她會問下你對小朋友的期望，例如平時邊個照顧個bb等。跟著她會解釋一下學校的作風，及師生的少少background等。

如果你係由playgroup讀開轉讀的，她們通常都會有preference俾番個小朋友的，因為起瑪個小朋友已經熟習了個環境，到真正入學時唔會喊。

我個女那班由6個小朋友讀到已經13個了不足兩個月。.

2) If the school prefer both daddy & mummy go together for the interview?   :

Hello, all mama, I have also visited the school site of Boxhill and let my son try their trial class. I am also thinking of sending my son to this school but would like to ask:will you feel worried that their Chinese standard not as good as kids studying in main-stream kindergartens? And do you all plan to send your kids to study international primary schools? Will there be any difficulty if my kid changes to main-stream primary school? Sorry for so many questions??

我曾經都有憂慮過的。不過那位負責人都有同我傾過這個問題，她說學校有中文及國語學，當然比例就以英文為主，6真會照顧到小朋友的中文程度的。

分別係：傳統幼稚園中文好，英文相對麻麻地。但上到小學好多都係英文的teaching materials。國際幼稚園剛剛相反，中文麻麻地，不過英文好。

問題都係一樣，teaching materisl 係英文，老師可能係中文教課。其實兩方面都無什麼話優勢的。況且我唔覺得個小朋友中文係講那方面會太差羅，因為我們在家就要講多些cantonese了。其實我相信除了寫比較弱少少外，無什麼大分別。但traditional kindergarten就可能會係講及寫和睇就相對比我們讀int'l kindergarten的小朋友差少少。

我唔係鼓勵人家全部讀國際，因為每人有唔同的要求及expectations，但我個女讀這間學校很開心呢。她每人都很懶訓的，但一講到話要返學，就即刻彈起身，要換衣服出門口的。平時最跟個姐姐的，但一去到學校就立即kiss姐姐byebye。

最近學校會有一個christmas concept/presentation係由小朋友表現俾班家長睇的。坦白講我個女野都未識講，但就每人返來就衣衣我我的唱歌。我問下老師，老師話係surprise唔可以話俾我知，後來講下她話同班小朋友採排緊當日的表現。我覺得很開心，因為我個女可以接觸到很多的野，而她的表現亦相當之開心及雀躍呢。

How much is the tuition?  Do they still accept the application for K1-2005?

一個要hk$3,380.00，但全包10的。即是話無茶點，無生日會費，無book fees要俾的。不過就要俾錢買校服及書包的。一些額外的outtings就要俾錢。如12月頭要去picnic，就要俾35元車費，但係是for2個人的。

還有3380係俾11個月的。有3個term分的，九月至一二月，一月至四月，五至七月。

Thanks for your quickly reply.  I also wonder is Box Hill same as ESF that only has Lower Class and Upper Class?  When the kids finished two years kinder education, they will need to go to P1?

I will interview K1 on coming Thursday.. Will you kid study K1 on January, then our kids will be classmates..

Still trying hard to find school bus, otherwise, she can't goes to  boxhill la..

我的小公主跟你個小寶貝應該唔會係同學仔了。因為我個小公主讀緊nursery班。

如果學校無法安排的，你就要出去搵另一些的私營校車了。
