Despite my son did not do well at school (it is such a shame that he failed in almost all subjects at the 1st term), he did not encounter the prolblem that  your friend's kid has had.  It depends on the way individual school is being run, I believe.

You're right, but the so called "band 1 school" always want to keep their academic results in high record, so it's no wonder that some of them will "try" to demand the low level student to leave the school...
That's what I am afraid that if my son really being invited to leave the school, then he will need to apply P2 again and that will hurt him and me too...

Not necessary.

My son's school is one of the so-called 'band 1' schools, and is amongst the hottest in HK.  I recalled the principal on the in-take parents' day once announced that the school would never give up a student, irrespective of how bad his performance was; what they concerned most was the conduct of the kids, not their academic performance.

The only consequence of my son's poor performance was that he was invited (not required) to attend supplemental classes on Saturday!

You're welcome!  Having left TAK last year, he attended St. Joseph Primary School in Wanchai.

By way of supplement, I agreed with your suggestion because I am of the view that students in renowned school usually behave more properly, as it is likely that they have caring parents who concern with their education and upbringing.  The chance of the kid affected by bad peer group can therefore be reduced though not guaranteed.
