到英國state school讀6th form

參考過parent power的資料，top 50 state 6th form college 是以''3 points...''（忘記了後半部）的數字作比較，那些數字代表甚麼？
以大家所知，有那間state的6th form college是好成績，而又有boarding？

如果你揾嘅係純6th form school 而又有boarding嘅全英只得兩間, Wellbeck 同Peter Symond's.
但如果係secondary school with sixth form就多啲選擇, 最出名嘅係Colchester Royal Grammar School, 不過係男校

萬分感謝妳的回應。Peter Symond's School 的成績是用3 point level，有別於其他學校用AL 成績來表示。請問妳知不知這間學校好不好？另外，妳提過那間Colchester Royal GRammar School，這些好的state school 會否收香港學生，如果我找到homestay 而學生的成績又不差，或是多數收本土生，不大考慮外地學生？

以我理解, level 3 point是指每個學生在AL取得的平均分, 普遍來說, 過1000已經是很好的成績.  Peter Symond喺HK比較冷門, 我唔識人喺入面讀, 比唔到意見你.Colchester 每年十月都有嚟香港招生, 佢交咗比Academic Asia做, 呢間非常難入, 專收名校top tier學生, 但係一試無妨. 要先係AA考咗試, 夠分先可安排interview. interview滿意再要考Colchester嘅papers.  過五關斬六將至入到去.  
除Colchester, 你可以睇吓Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Reading Scool及Cranbrook School.  都係一啲有水準嘅state boarding school.
UK中學其實好鐘意收香港學生, 考試成績好, 可以提高學校水準.

As far as I know, Colchester would admit only one HK student thro Academic Asia each year. One HK student with 9A school cert result was admitted by Colchester last year!

AA寫字樓有貼告示每間UK名校收咗幾多學生, 上年睇過,印象中Colchester都多過5位.

My friend always booasts his 9A son and her son eventually gave up the offer from Colchester and continued his study in HK. In the coming Sept. he will study HKU.

my boy is studying in Peter Symonds at the moment, they only got 30 boarding places, which give priority to the students whose parents are army.  I only know that there is one whose family is not army living in their boarding house.

But I have asked Peter Symonds before and the reply was that they didn't consider oversea student. How did your son get accepted?

As far as I understand, hkparagirl lives in the UK and her son joins Peter Seymond's as a day student. Peter Seymond's is a state school and thus will not consider overseas student. The same rule applies to all state schools in the UK with few exceptions. For example, if the parent(s) of the student is overseas national but is working in the UK with proper working Visa.

提一提大家 Reading School 係間 weekly boarding school, 有心理準備要安排每星期五六日的guardian 費用。

Apart from Colchester, another state boarding school Reading ranks 19th in this year which surpasses many public schools like Harrow, CLC, Charterhouse etc and its Registrar Mrs N G Douglas is very sincere indeed.
