Alliance Primary School, Kowloon Tong

Dear all,

I'm a K.3 parent and my son applys APS's P.1 next year.  The interview is in coming early Dec..  Would anyone tell me more about the interview?

Could the APS's parents tell me more about the school, including the music educaiton, sport training, and English standard?  What is the strength and weakness about the school?

So much thanks!!

Re: Alliance Primary School, Kowloon Tong

我個仔現在是小一,回想起上年考試家長只可在禮堂等,我個仔話有maths like {6+4-2}英文則the teacher said that students please put your pen on the floor and then use chinese to tell them pick up the pen again.Chinese will give them some words , let students follow try to write one time. 因為這間學校常常要學生自己看完自己寫,音樂方面雖然校長講得很客氣,但其嘗是必修的因為最近派了音樂考,有一欄是要計分的,即是如果沒有學那部分就會零分,還有鋼琴不能當樂器一種

I'm puzzled why piano can't be counted as a music instrument. Can someone tell me why?

"還有鋼琴不能當樂器一種"

Yes!  That's why my nephew learnt clarinet, in addition to piano.

Re: Alliance Primary School, Kowloon Tong

I gave up the offer last year cos. my daughter is not interested in learning music.  Besides, the school campus, though new, is pretty small.  But of course, it is a very good primary school.

Re: Alliance Primary School, Kowloon Tong

Dear catAuYeung and APS's Parents,

I want to know about the Mandarian Teaching in the school.  Someone told me that the Chinese Studies is conducted by Mandarian.  Is it right?

If yes, is it taught by native Mandarian speaker or local teacher?  I wonder whether the local teacher can speak excellent Mandarian!

Moreover, is there an independent Mandarian subject?  How many lessons a week?  Is it good enough?

Thanks for your reply.
