小女將在今年到此校ST Mary's  Cambridge 讀 year 9.

請問有無家長對此校有什麼認識, 請給寶貴意見

另寄宿生需帶哪些東西.

Congruduation, quite a good girls' school, I am also interested in this school but they take boarder in year 9 only, right?  Other than the listed fees, any hidden cost?


Well, boarding schools normally will provide you a list of required items for boarder.  I found that a toilette bag with shampoo etec is the most important item (better to be a big one with a zip and handle and water resistant)

If she will come back in the 1st half term or Chritmas holidays, don't prepare too much, do a second shopping on her return.  

As she is in Year 9, most of the time is in uniform.

I think, you should do some research on IDD service for the most cheapest way.

May I also advise you, if money and time is not a problem, go with her a week earlier than school term starts.

I also know that some oversea students learn some French/ Spanish before joining the schools, not just yours.  Othewise, the schools may object your daughter to choose them as second/third language in GCSE.

修讀多個語文, 我想囡囡修中文, 讀生不如讀熟, 中文將來回港都有用些, 其他語文實際用不上., 但中文需自修, 但聽聞GCSE 可以今年過去就報考, for 外國人修讀不太深的.但未問學校.

請問何解要提早過去?? 聽說學校只容許早二天左右到校報到, 我地己 在今 個月頭到訪過學校了.

cheapest  IDD service : 我都很想知道, 要再問下大家提點吓, 什打會最化算

另不知此校有什麼加收費用, 學校未通知

學校真的很細小, 有些失望.

需要學生 VISA, 但學校說要等6月份才可出信給我辦 VISA.

我未訂機票, 我想訂國泰, 妳訂左什麼時間及哪間航空公司

The school said will send us visa pack in May.  I also booked Cathay.  Maybe I pm you my email.

Well, self study mean no teaching and just let you to take the exam yourself.  You have already paid schools fees, why not learn one more language & you may not take the exam.  

For Chinese, you may check on some past papers, you will have some ideas.  


Go early, of course, you need to figure out the place for staying.  Let your daughters to settle down a bit before you left her alone in UK.   Money and time are problem to most of the families.

Book the tickets earlier, very demanding.

多謝你的寶貴意見, 很有道理, 我會問吓囡囡想學什麼外語.

機票今天已在學聯訂左3 套來回, 我不打算陪囡囡過去UK.
她說自己應該可以handle, 因我怕座飛機. 安排學校接機就得啦.
