我尋日收到幼兒園封信話呀仔未夠歲入2011/2012學年﹐我想睇下大家有咩意見﹕

It is noted that your child was born in 8th Oct, 2009 and we need to advise you that this date falls outside our cut off date of turning two years old by 30th Sept, in the year in which you wish for your child to start Nursery Class.

In light of the above application parameters, we invite you to defer your application for possible consideration of commencing Pre-Nursery Class in the 2012/2013 year. We can waitlist your application for consideration in the next interview round.

In the interim period, you may like to join our Head Start programme which is a sensory focussed programme for young children aged 14-26 months ...

You can either let him to study K1 for the year 2011 / 2012.

My boy is the same case. He was born in Dec 08 ... some sch dont even let him to interview.

Yes, it's Bramer Hill kinder 寶山幼兒園.

Fullstop - I received the same letter last year as my boy was born in Oct 2008. 寶山 doesn't accept 細仔(small b).  Apparently it's because famous primary school like St Paul Co-Ed doesn't prefer taking on small kids.

If you are very keen on 寶山, then perhaps you can get your son to study N1 in another kinder (like Victoria or other international kinder such as Woodland)..wait for one year..and then repeat N1 at 寶山.  Otherwise just go for other famous kinder (e.g., SKH, SC, KV) at K1 in 2012.

FYI, even if you choose Head Start Programme and they send you a form to pick the time slot, it doesn't mean that they will allow you in.  There is a waiting list. They generally pre-screen those that have a higher chance of getting into their kinder (and St Paul Co-Ed primary).
