請問有無媽咪知道澳洲國際學校既IB課程點架?  他們的成績如何?  校風好唔好架?

I think their IB program only applies to the last 2 years (Y11-Y12).

My son just started going to their Prep class this week. From what I have seen and heard their students' discipline is good. It's one of the reasons we chose AISHK.

I would be very concerned if I were an AIS's parent.  15% of the students received 43 or higher points in IBDP - that sounds good.  But, what? Over 30% of the students got 30 or less?  There seems to be an Atlantic Ocean between the better students and the not so good ones.  And, there are many in the latter group (almost 1 in 3 got 30 points or less).  The result is hardly acceptable.

Quick analyss
15% - 43-45 points - can get in top tier Uni
15% - 37 -42 points = marginally can get in top tier Uni
39% - 31-37 points = second tier Uni
21% - below 31 points = no Uni will accept

The good one is indeed very good and the bad one is very bad.


Anyone can tell me:

Reception = K2?
Prep class = K3?

Another reason that I feel so shocked by these figures is that the IB students are presumably already the academically more advanced students.  The school's website does not tell us how many students did HS Cert last years, but I guess not an insignificant number of students gave up IB and went for the much easier HS Cert.

result of CIS is v. gd
in 2009, the school had 14% having 40-45 marks and 40% having 35-39 marks. everyone was 24 marks or above

but the school w/ the best IB result in HK should be LPCUWC http://www.lpcuwc.edu.hk/uploads/2008/07/LPC_Results_1999-20091.pdf
2009 result was ~23% having 41-45 marks and ~69% having 36 or above marks. also everyone was 24 marks or above.

according to the press, the school has 1 student achieving 45 marks and ~5 students achieving 44 marks.

but HK students in LPCUWC were usually the top tier students in "famous traditional" secondary schools [this is also part of the reason why quite a no. of these "famous traditional" local schools planned to/operated IPB to retain their top tier students.]

Yes. Or if you compare to ESF schools, Prep in AISHK would be equivalent to ESF's Year 1 as far as age is concerned.

My little comment:

I am not very concern on the average result as some school only allow top student to take IB but some school has more relax policy to allow majority or all student to take IB.
I am more concern if the school can product 40+ points student and hope my son wil be one of them 12 years later.

it's basically the art of manipulating statistics. 
In 2009, only 13 students did the IB Bilingual Diploma Program. 
Out of these 13 students, 
1 received 45
1 received 43
1 received 39

各位MUMMY 我都有打算比我囡囡讀國際學校, 但間間都要買debenture,但香港IB Programme 只係著重最後兩年, 但澳洲和外國其他國家就大部份學校就從少開始, 即係 PYP, MYP, IBDP, 所以我覺得香港國際學校d IB 唔值我花錢, 大大話話都要20万先有得諗

但我囡囡已中一了, 我打算轉Korean International School比佢, 唔駛買debenture, 不過又怕d 老師英文唔好,但佢地係考Cambridge d Cert (IGCSE) 架, 又近我屋企, 本人打算兩年後給女兒回澳洲讀 MYP 課程

我想問有冇家長知道依間Korean International School 多d 資料, 係咪外籍老師教書架? 因為我都係澳洲讀書架我知d Korean 英文發音唔準呀, 請盡快幫忙回答, 因女兒入了一間極差本地中學, Thanks.
