Global education is the trend of 21st century. People nowadays talk about fully rounded education, learn through play, bilingual, global-minded which people seldom talk 20 years ago, that time people have no choice Elite traditional schools were the best available. Test, exams, loads of homework, dictation, memorizing are part of everyone's school life 20 years ago. It is a good system for some people but torture for some others.
I know people who went to a good traditional school but he doesn't know the difference between Palestine and Pakistan (the word 'Palestine' appeared in the news for the last couple of decades!), my point is at that time students were busy memorizing things for dictation, preparing for test that they had lack of time to something else. I think that is why there were quite a few number of so called active learning DSS appeared in the last 10 years, to cope with the problem.
Having said that, I'm not saying traditional is less good, there is no doubt that traditional schools certainly have their own value and characteristics.
It's just that, the two schools are different type.
