My son applied for ICS Pre-grade 1 2010-2011, have anyone of you received the invitation letter for interview?

not yet. they r now having the winter break. may be u can call them and check next Mon. :)

i recall the principal of the kindergarten section mentioned that the interview will be conducted in Feb sth. but not v. sure about the one of Pre-grade.

It is too early to worry, the re-enrollment deadline is 11 Jan 2010.

For P1, I believe they have not started to offer interview to the applicants yet.

BTW, they call you instead of sending letter to you & if you are eager to join ICS, call them, we'll start shcool next Monday i.e. 11 Jan 2010.  

Don't expect prompt reply, they are very busy, be patient.

Thanks so much for your comfort!  I really hope that my son can enter ICS.  BTW, is your child currently studying there, any comments on the school.

My daughter is till in ICS who enjoys the school very much and ICS students are proud of being in ICS.

We started from R1; P.1 is elementary.  Most of the teachers are very good to me, others might not just meeting my need.  ICS families are very close on/off school hours though we just know each other through school activities.  A lot of local familes and returning families from oversea.

I did see some new P.1 students were not happy in the beginning because their spoken English were not as good as ICS kindergarten students, but they settled down in a couple of months and they enjoy the schools since then.   I know the waiting list is very long even if you are accepted.  But never give up and be more 'positive' and sincere.

will there be any written test for the pre-grade 1 interview?  or just verbal test?

My daughter started from kindergarten, I don't have information for outsider applicants.  When my daughter in R2, she was just taken from the normal class time to play games with the elementary teachers (it was what she told me two weeks after the test).  I did not know she had taken the test until other parents mentioned it to me.

I don't know the present situation now, as I learn from others, a lot of applicants since we moved to the new campus.

I just received the call for interview from the admission office of ICS today.  My daughter will attend the interview on Wed 20/1.  Can anyone share the experience here?  Will they interview the parents also?  My daughter always need quite a long to time to warmup. So I really worried about her during the interview.

Would u mind advising what level is your daughter applying? I believe different level ve different interview format. It will faciliate parents in ICS to provide advice to you :)

My daughter is 5 yrs old.  I applied for pre-grade 1 in 2010-11 for her.  Would you please give me some advice for interview?  In what format?  
How they interview the parent?  What will they ask?

My son also applied for Pre-grade 1 and had interview on 21/1. ICS said we should know the result by the end of this week. I hope they can release the result asap. There're only 75-76 seats while 50+ ppl came from ICS kinder (Staff said they also need to attending admission testing). I think the competition is very keen.....

what a coincidence! but there're only 3 kids in my time slot n the other 2 were girls. i don't know how many applicants are there in P.1 but i think most likely ICS should have finished to interview all P.1 candidates. do u think so?

Yes, as told by them.  The result will be available by the end of this week.  So most probably, they have finished all.  Good luck then!
