Hi Sosan,

Nice to meet you too! We are sooooooo lucky to get into St Jo in the first round. I am very excited now but on the other hand, I am a bit worried since my son is currently studying in Victoria (u know how "hare" they are) and not sure if my son can keep up to the standard of St. Joe. How abt you?? Any preparation work so far??

No, my son is not a SJK student but we are living in Wanchai.

Are you going to apply in the 2nd round or just doing some research work? Anyway, good luck to you!

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm looking for more substantial comments for prudent consideration.

My son is in K1 right now .
As he will only have 15marks and not in the same school net by the time applying P1. I wanna apply the SJK to increase the chance of entering SJP.

Does your son has 20marks?

I don't think too much now, just let him keep up to read the books and play hard since there will be lack of time to play in P1.

Hi!  Parents of SJPS 2010-11 P.1  students,  
Nice to meet you here!  

We got the seat in the first round (since my husband is an old boy and our family is catholic).  Just a bit surprised that there is no parents from the 2nd round joined this thread yet.  

BTW, they said the letter concerning the P.1 Parents' Orientation Day will be sent in early June but I still haven't received it yet.  Someone told me that it should be on July 9, according to the school calendar.  Did any of you receive that letter yet?

Sorry htchan, I missed your posting!  (I thought no parents from the second round posted in this thread yet.)

BTW, did you get any informaton about the Parents' Orientation Day in July when you registered at SJPS?  I want to have an idea of the date.  But, I find nothing concerning it posted in SJPS official website; and I haven't received any letter from school yet.

I have not received the letter yet but I think it will be coming soon.

Someone also told me the Orientation Day is on 9 July.... wow I am so excited now, cant wait to meet other P1 students and parents then. Honestly, I have not even had a chance to take a closer look at the school campus   I know it is small but just hope that it is not that bad.

Hi PMma, sorry for the late reply!
Yes, the orientation day is on the 9th of July. On that day, all the P1 boys are required to go to school at 9am to meet their class teacher. If unable, a written notice stating the reason must be sent to school on or before that day, or his place will be given to another boy on the waiting list.
My boy is allocated to 1A class already. How about yours?

Thanks a lot, htchan!  I haven't received any letter from SJPS yet.  I think it may be arrived in these 2 days then.

We just got the letter in the mail box this afternoon.  He is also allocated to 1A class.  Our sons will be classmates then.  

Looking forward to seeing you and other P.1 parents on July 9!
