KTS 同 英華 (放棄英華?)

英華註冊咗就冇得大抽獎，但放棄又好可惜。二千幾人爭120個位。但人吔話英華不太注重英文。
不過校長interview 眞係好嚴，過2關才有2nd in。再從300人選120人，我吔仲係細仔+無哥哥+無人事，眞係個仔千辛萬苦考返嚟ga。但校網只是深水步，中學唔知派邊間。
不如放棄英華，keep 住KTS (校網好)，再去大抽獎。

值唔值得呢？

It all depends how much conviction you have your kid to do very well in P school as S1 1st round is open to school selection.  

YW and KTS are very careful in their selection.  YW has a better reputation.   

Unless you can get a place with a top school in lucky draw I would not give up YW.    At least in YW you are assured of good company.  Even the top schools will have wide range of standards.

give up YW真係要好忍心, 因YW 真是好難考, 我仔仔同樣有YW 同DBS offer, 感覺yw選生比DBS仲嚴緊, 反而DBS interview 幾求其, 今次入倒DBS 真係好LUCK.

當初, 我未有DBS offer時, 成日想, 會為YW 放棄Lucky Draw嗎?成日諗, 宜家內心已有定案: 如你是一位希望小朋友入超級名校的家長, 你要戰鬥到底, 因Lucky Draw 抽La salle 將會是你入名校機會的最後一戰.

講真YW, 佢不失係一間有心的學校, 但始終好多野仲SURE唔倒, 如林校長會做到幾時同好多人講佢似TOP SALES, 好SALE 得, 學校實際情況真係未SURE.

如果我, 有自己LIKE 的私校在手, 有net, 我會參加lucky draw. 純粹分享個人感受, 如有得罪, 唔好見怪.

其實, 你都數到如果yw 對你黎講有o羊壞處啦. so, 揀kts啦.

兩間都係好學校.  
但重點唔應該係佢有幾難考,
難道為左考到唔好浪費, 去證明d 虛名?
我估樓主都唔會咁諗, 咪就唔使咁苦惱, 要開呢個post啦.  

應選長遠黎講, 邊間較適合你小朋友,
同埋學校本身/校網有幾多穩定優勢.

個人意見, 得罪莫怪 .

YW is good enough and have secondary backup.
Or
Rely on "Luck" on June 2010
and perhaps again 6 years later.

Anyway, one should choose the school most suitable for your child. Don't count on the "Lucky Draw".

If you are not aimed for YW secondary school and you will still look for other secondary schools, then better to choose KTS.

Just my personal opinion.

小朋友的性格合適男校或者男女校呢? 邊間學校近你屋企? 選KTS, 6年後又要煩多一次, 而英華書院屬於Band1中, 又是直資, 如無意外都可以直升.

同你分享一個真人真事, 有個媽媽幫個仔報面試班考中學, 個仔在XXX小學(私校)考81名, 剛剛跌落Band2好大機會派唔番屬Band1津校的中學部...以Band2成績去派位, 就算個校網幾好, 結果已經在你估計之外.

We registered YW and give up KTS, the actual number of students YW accepted should be 150, and do you know that YW has secondary school, if you won't consider to let your son study in YW College then may be KTS is more suitable for you, you can join the lucky draw later. However there is no gurantee in the lucky draw...

Ans:  派? 考英華吾係貪佢有英華書院可以直上咩?  咁當然係叻既六年後可以考喇書同拔書

Lucky Draw?
Ans: 你又係 Net 41 呀?  If not, 邊間小學咁值得放棄 YW 去抽呀?

吾注重英文?
Ans: 邊個人地講呀?  YW 家長?  吾係因為學校通告用中文就話吾注重吓話?  吾注重吾會有 NET 教 phonics 卦?  我覺得每天的功課英文科佔的比重最多.

講真你吾讀後面有百五人多謝你.
KTS 吾係吾好 (我個仔 last year 都考到,  幾年後我都會比我細仔考) 但讀完六年後, 你可能要出盡渾身解數, 吾知同幾多人爭三十個位入英華書院.  如果最後殊途同歸, 我唸吾到有乜理由依家吾讀英華小學 lor.

My close friend is an old boy of YW and his brother is teaching in YW Secondary School. My friend asks his brother whether his son should get the through train to YW.
After hearing his comment, he finally gave up YW.

P.S. IMO, YW is not a bad choice if you don't have another offers.

同意, 如不上英華書, 為何讀英華小呢?
成績好的英華仔, 也一樣考喇書...?  人是心多的, 不管讀哪小學, 未一樣再考過, 魚唔過塘點大呢!  
最重要是英華"學費夠平", 可以用餘款補其他科目

Make up your decision early..there are over 100 students line up for admission.

YW's English is very good and amongst or better than top tier schools.(my bias answer..my P.2 son could compose an essay of 70 to 100 words, write a letter and commuciate with native English speakers..and delivered a presentation for 1 minute).

What sort of English standard you are looking for?  Shatin College teaches great oral English.

Dear all,
真係好多謝大家寳貴既意見，我相信YW 真係一間好好既p s. 校長收生咁嚴格+學校課程編排認真，將來中學批學生都會係一班有質素的人。
