I heard that the soonest time they will expand one more class is 2011. This is a good news for applicants next year.

I believe that there are more "wealthier" and hearsay that many families with "high social status" are with SPCC.  Many prestigious both ex- and current HK Officials, families with prestigious medical academics/practitioner history and families whose grand father/mother were spcc ex-students sent their kids there.

So if children studying there could be able to build a very good connection in the future esp if a child is sociable and likes to connect with friends.  This may be a point to consider.  You know when ppl entering the job market and progressing in career, ppl connection is definitely an advantage.

I think this is the most difficult decision to make.
SPCC is undoubtably a very good (and expensive) school. But DJS is also a very reputable one, especially in this year their girls really got excellent result.
By the way, just wait until the result from DGJS firstly.
HAHA that's really enough for every parents in these two months, I think..

So, on the other side, this may create some burden for some not so rich or just middle class family's students, though I believe that this is not SPCC's fault but the overall environment make this....

When I attended the 2nd round interview and went to confirm the registration, I ran into quite a number of parents and kids who spoke Mandarin. It is quite obvious that SPCC has attracted many elite people with Mainland China background.

It is also noted that in its secondary school, SPCC is launching new IB curriculum catered for both local and international students. The school looks more visionary and is ahead of other top school in terms of its future development to cope with the drastic changes undergoing in our educational system.

There is only one student of the year (No.1) for each grade.  For each class, there are subject prizes too.  Other than that, the school report only shows "median" (not average) for Chinese/Eng/Math so you can tell your child's relative position of these subjects in the class.

Personally I like this system because there is not much pressure unless you aim at the abovementioned prizes.

If it's sent on 19th Dec, then it should arrive on next mon, so may be 6 more days........
Btw, can I just ask you a favour?  I m asking all the ppl that I know to vote for St. clare vs. st paul catholics primary school.  So if you were me, which one will you choose?  Thanks for your comment.
