St Catherine (Cantonese/Eng) Vs 學之園 (Putonghua/Eng)

What do you think?  Cantonese/ Eng class at St Catherine (am) or Putonghua/Eng pm class at 學之園 is better ?

Difficult decision, anyone can provide some information or comment?

Situation is SC is AM class, but LH is very near to us.

SC is more renowned, while LH comments in this forum are not bad wor.

Anyone who has childs to study SC and LH, and can give some comments?

I think the track record of SC is much better than LH. Please compare the primary schools they will enter.

My son is going to Eng/PTH pm class in LH in 2010. But he is not form the LH nursery.
Is the Phonics good in LH? Is it taught very early on?

LH uses 'Letterland' to teach phonics in PN. My kid can remember them and enjoy learning them very much.
I'm also thinking which school I should go. LH is really a very good school.

My kid gets offer from Victoria (HMT) (PM Eng/Mandarin), LH (PM Eng/Mandarin), KV (AM), SC (waitlist PM Eng/Cantonese).

My questions are:
1. I heard that SC K2& 3 Eng/Can class only has 20 min of English daily as the NET will be shared with other class . Is this true?
(background: I gather many parents will drop SC as they may got to KV or GH later.)

2. How to compare Victoria (HMT) vs LH (LV campus)?
Background : I live in Kowloon Tong. Both schools are not near us.

3. If I accept KV, I am worried that my kid's English will deteriorate as I learned that there is no NET there. Do students of KV go for Englsih private tutoring very often?
Background: my kid now speaks English only. i don't want to see her Eng getting worse.

Last, but certainly not the least, being a father myself, I must congratlate all the parents involving in preparing their kids for interviews here for thier hardwork! I'd also like to say thank you to my wife (a working mum) for her care and devotion throughout these years ! :)

If just SC and LH, definitely go for SC.

English standard of SC is very good, esp in phonics. Most of my friends' kids are well versed in English. Parents don't need to spend extra money on tuition outside. (Of course, some parents, regardless the kinders, like enrolling kids in different classes...)

KV provides a solid academic background for kids. It's a good choice if parents accepts traditional teaching methods.

Victoria is also quite good with experinced teachers.

I think LH is not bad but if your child gets offer from schools like SC, KV, Victoria, HK Pre-School, I would recommend you to put LH as a second choice.
