學之園(英普)vs維記(英普), 你會點揀?

阿仔現在讀緊維記pn，剛收到學之園的offer，同樣都是下午英普班，我只知這兩間教學方式差不多，請問有無人知道邊間升小一考直資或私校會好d呀?

which branch of Vic & LH? I think hardware (campus) of Vic is more attractive while teachers may be LH? as they have more NET and PTH teachers. I also like principle(s) of LH more.

HMT Vic is IB while LH (HL)  would be more suitable for local stream? Am I right?

維記係行IB架，之前聽人講維記內容淺D，因為佢著重訓練思考探索，LH內容教得深d(其實我唔知係咪真)，但我又見兩間的小學派位都好似差唔多，所以真係唔識揀....

Did you apply SC or HKPS (英普) as well? Consider later when the result comes out.

I think both (維記 & LHK) are quite similar in terms of teaching methods and P1 allocation.  I know some LHK PN students have chosen 維記 for K1 last year.

My girl studied the playgroups in both Victoria and LH before & gained their offers for PN last year and we finally picked Victoria base on the below reasons:

Hygience - Victoria is more concern about their hygience level while LH didn't perform this very well...

Resources - Victoria provide better resources in both manpower and facilities, eg ratio for teachers, amah and nurse... more spacious classroom and playground.

Teacher background - Victoria teachers are much well-educate.  Although they may not hire the net teacher as the English teacher, they concern their relevant education background rather than their race (but definitely a native teacher) ... LH emphasis they hire the net teacher as the English teacher, but most of them are not well educated or they don't have a heart to teach/love children...

For me, I prefer LH cos my kid is studying N1 in LH. The teachers are really caring.

Few months ago, I was also accepted by LH and Victoria. My kid also attended the playgroup. I feel Victoria has an attractive environment but it seems too commercial.  Finally, we chosen LH and I still believe I chose a right school for my kid.

維記行IB, 遲d銜接傳統小學可能會有困難, 家長要幫手補課, 反而學之園無這問題, 俾我會選LH.

according to the placement result of LH, I think LH got more students enter into int'l school compare with Victoria.  LH is not really target to the traditional primary schools too.  Agreed the points that hihiKathk mentioned.... I vote for Victoria.

A high ratio of LHK students have been admitted to DSS / private schools (include those new schools or traditional elite schools).  But it is also true that not many of them go to elite gov't schools.

始終LH 同VIC 0既 學生都唔係主打走津貼學校, 佢0地兩間都講明唔會因為有資助而去行學卷制...

而呢個都係佢0地0既SELLING POINT..

但係可以講0既係兩間都係好0既學校.但lh0黎講應該係海逸同青衣分校會好0的. 因為都係同一個校長去manage...

Not all Victoria follows IB system, but yes, HMT does.  Two more issues you can consider:
1.  I think Victoria is slightly more expensive.
2.  What primary school their kids go to I think also depends on the parents preference.  Victoria has its own primary school, so I think many would prefer its own primary school, or the same rank/tier of international and ESF schools.  My impression is that LH parents are more local oriented, so they would apply local DSS/private schools.
