I heard last year, there's a vacancy released at the very very last moment.  So there's a student admitted in the 1st week of Sep.

And, the chance really depends on where your kid is on the wait list...on top of the wait list or bottom

If a family need to move from kowloon to hk island, noticed in Aug will still be too rush.

It seems that the waiting list should be at least more than 50.  (100個真係唔奇，反正對學校無任何壞處!!)  The no. we already found in the forum is already 15-20, in the first day of release of the letter.  We should expect more people will post it to the forum in the next Monday.  We should also consider some never visit or post to the forum.  

我覺得，收到備取生封信，當做reject信會開心ｄ囉.....

Excuse me, my child is on the waiting list too.

We talked to the Vice-Principal on the day of interview on 10 Oct.  He mentioned that they would keep around 200 candidates on the waiting list.  But I am not sure if they had changed their mind in having such a long waiting list.

It means that there is no different to the rejected letter.  The school is just putting themselves in a win win side.  They only accept 99 students for P1.  It is crazy to keep a waiting list for 200??????  Does it mean that we need to get in 2 years later.  It is really a joke!!!.  99 students have to leave and another 99 replace them and they have to leave again and another 99 replace them.  Then the 3rd round will be our turn??????  

Forget about it.  The letter is just = to rejected letter!!!!!

Take a step back, can we ask ourselves how many DDS/private school we have applied for our kids. There are many smart kids got more than three or four offers? As a result, they may need to keep that many waiting list students. However, I would think the school can do better by having ranking in waiting list, such as 1st batch and or 2nd batch, so that parents can have more info for their kids. As far as I know, St Paul Boy do offer 1st batch waiting list .........

It is really not uncommon that a kid got 3 to 5 offers.  Actually, I have already got 6 offers.  Regardless the branding or popluarity of a school, if each kid got 4 offers and the school have 100 seats, it needs to give offer to 100 applicants and place 300 applicants on the waiting list to fill up all the 100 seats.

To be safe, another 100 applicants need to be on the waiting list.  The number should be more if we take into account the effect of lucky draw.

But SSCPS requires a high registration fee, announced result so late and registered applicants cannot join the lucky draw.  So the number of applicants on the waiting list should be less than the above if all 99 seats is already registered.

The question now is what number is reasonable.

Let me make a simple forecast.

About 10 reported having received the acceptance letters of the 99 seats.  So, 1/10 of people will report in BK.

18 x 10 = 180 are on the waiting list now.

More may show up in the coming few days.

大家唔好諗咁多啦，也估唔到自己在waiting list排第幾。 做計劃時，也唔好假設赤聖會取錄囉。這樣做會實際點，開心點。 聖誕節假，上少幾日bk，去戶外relax 下，或者出外走走。

另一方面，也要感激有internet和 有bk這個平台，否則收到張waiting list信，重以為希望在明天，原來自己只係幾十至百幾個candidates 其中一個。

我唔係消極，只係取錄與否，唔係控制得到。  最後，入唔到赤聖亦唔係世界末日!
