My friend failed with St. Mary last year even her daughter got 20 marks. She said 20 marks are pretty save if you apply for 天神.

No, I won't. Most 天神 students can go directly to St. Mary, why have to take this risk? But this is subjective, all depends on how you value Maryknoll and St. Mary yourself.

In your case, I will go for 天神 .

How about 天神 (15 marks) vs Maryknoll (20 marks)?  The chance for both are slim.  How would you choose?

The chance for getting in HACS with 15 marks is scarce as she will implement 小班 .Of course, if you've 20 marks for Maryknoll, it's better to go there.
However, if both are with 20 marks, it's better to go HACS due to her 一條龍 to SMCC and the chance of getting in HACS is yet a bit higher.

Both 天神 & St Mary's are 一條龍 to St Mary's Secondary School, wheras Maryknoll is not 一條龍 to her own secondary school.
So I'll choose 天神 & St Mary's over Maryknoll.
With 20 marks, the chance of getting into 天神 should be higher than St Mary's, & since both end up in the same secondary school, my choice would be:
1) 天神
2) St Mary's
3) Maryknoll

May I know why Marynoll is not 一條龍 to her own secondary school?  Where do you got such information.

mcs不是一條龍.  在小學概覽也寫到maryknoll是直屬中學.  六年小學生活不能鬆懈呀!

Any reason you choose HACS instead of GoodHope?  I will have the same problem in next year.

The reasons are simple:
You don't have to pay tuition fees at 天神, and you can go straight to St Mary's Secondary School, which most would consider to be at a slightly higher level than Goodhope.
