以我所知,每間學校都有叩門位, 問題係佢比唔比個offer 你之麻, 就算佢講明冇,咁又點, 我身邊的而且確有人於叩門階段入咗,仲要係好出名的一間, 但佢在之前兩個階段都從冇選過該校,亦唔係住該區,係完全靠人事關係, 所以真係好黑暗架, 但我就唔鍾意d學校同晒人講話自己冇叩門位, 總之,佢唔想entertain 你, 咪話冇囉

好多時, 呢d咁出名既學校, 叩門位只係for2類學生:
1. 好叻好叻既學生(例如已經係全港xx冠軍or咩數咩琴幾多級果種)
2. 父母係舊生, or識人

as far as st. mary is concerned, nobody got in through 'knocking the door'. For those parents whose daughter got admitted this way. please share with us.

I agree with you.

women want to choose a good husband, and men eant to choose a good wife. you walk in a supermarket, you want to pick the best 4 oranges for 20 dollars (not just any 4 oranges).
it's the only moment schools really have their discretion to pick students for limited quotas. they don't want to take risk. it's very understandable. if parents call it "dirty", why would they pick the best 4 oranges, but not just any 4 oranges?!?! how fair is fair?!?!

其實我都係想知下, 會唔會好似油天咁, 有一日係公開收叩門form 啫, 後門幾時輪得到我地走吖

actually, choosing wife is like choosing oranges. The oranges may look very sweet and juicy. But after you took them home they turned out to be very sour and dry...

前年同舊年都有人成功叩門, 前年係開咗學既第二日, 今年係8月22日. 兩個都係正常途徑去叩, 不過考既野一D都吾易, 其中數學已出現除數, 叩門真係好難玩, 我舊年玩到心力交碎.

==> 其實唔多學校係咁架. (我心儀果D唔係啦) 有D學校話咁樣學校要做多好多野.
我亦覺得唔排除有D學校鐘意見咁多人排門口, 表示自己受歡迎,派左幾多百張FORM(結果迷又係收得幾個!) 有D學校是靜態型;有D是動態型. 已經是出名的,從來不出鏡....!

”nobody"? how do you know? I think even the principal would not say that. But, I think the one got a place with very "special" reason will not openly share their views here.

老師會出嚟收?
定係門口有d 嬸嬸話唔收就唔收架喇?

On the contrary, if you ask the principal, i'm sure she will tell you that they don't offer any places through "knocking door". The only chance where you can get in if you know the principal very well is during the Discretionary Places Allocation stage. Here the school has room to manipulate the figures to allocate places according to their wish. It's all have to do with supply & demand. If you check the Summary of Allocation Results (by Net) for P1 Admission for recent years, you will get an idea that the % of places allocated through Discretionary Places Allocation and through Central Allocation (unrestricted 1-3) and Restricted (1-3) account for over 90% of the total no. of allocated places.

前年有朋友叩門成功, 她是舊生, 20分, 但第一及第二round也抽不中,直資也沒有offer, 於是她叩門St mary, 識人, 有reference letter, 但也沒音訊, 幾經辛苦才能直接認識校長, 再直接求校長, 開學前一天才有位, 她現在提起也眼泛淚光! 她後悔地說如果早些幫她囡囡洗禮(她自己是天主教教友), 她便有25分, 便不用行這條艱辛之路了!

我相信政府現行的制度是有很多不公平的!
