What is heard this morning is some parents are still not happy with the regrouping.

He is in G3 (English), G2 (Chinese) and G1 (Maths).  How about your girl?

Do you know whether the regrouping is solely on academic result of that particular subject or there are other criterias that takes into account as well?

She stays in G2 this year. G2 (English), G2 (Chinese) and G1 (Maths).  Chinese & Maths 同你個仔同 group 真係好啦!個女發夢時都可以請你幫忙.

No worries! I trust the groupings are in the best interest of our kids.

As per my understanding from  Ms Ma, the regrouping was made upon the year-through on-going assessment on the students.  The school would take into account the average scores of each student across the 3 terms.

In P1, there is no quiz or exam on English and Chinese, hence, it is purely relied on comments from the relevant subject teachers.  This is, to some extent, quite subjective.  As far as I know, all the classwork, worksheets are marked for assessment sake.  We have a funny observation that quite a number of boys in P1G2 are moved to P2G3.  

For Maths, since there were quite a number of quizes, it is more transparent.   

It would be more transparent in P2 as there will be exams.

My friend's son is in P2G3 too and he was P1G2 last year.

Hi Monkeydad,

Tks to create the P2 platform for info. sharing. A lot of homework for parents today, remember to hand in the summer homework latest by tomorrow.

The school intranet shows P2G3 class no. is much smaller than the other 2 classes :

P2G1 has 29 pupils
P2G2 has 30 pupils
P2G3 has 21 pupils

Anyone know why?

因為G3 程度相對其他group差少少, 人數少d可以方便老師更集中幫忙學生.

From the website of SMC, we can know the name lists of  P2, about 15 students changed from P1G2 to P2G3, and 3 students changed from P1G2 to P2G1, 4 students changed from P1G3 to P2G1. There are two new students in P2G1.

Based on your data, more than 50% of students from P1G2 moved to P2G3 (15 out of 27).  This is a relatively high proportion.

He likes her very much.

I just realize he is quite weak in English comparig to his peers as I had never been told by G before though we maintained regular dialogue.  I need to have him catch up ASAP.

The kids start full day school.

I have packed 2 bottles of water as I am not sure whether the drinking water from school is yet ok (after 2 months+ summer holiday).

There are a lot to carry - school bag and lunch bag + snacks and water.
