I like to ask more about "要注意的是小孩學習每種語言的時間比重"

I do understand that we should not mix two languages in a sentence (e.g. eat 唔 eat biscuit), but we have been using 2 languages at home.

My younger son is now 21 months.  He only uses around 10 words now.  He has been slow in language development, everything else is fine.

I have been using Chinese only, but his brother is English speaking only.  Obviously I cannot stop my older son from speaking English to my younger son.

At this stage, would all members in the family use English be better?

So what are his first 10 words? in English or Cantonese?

And we need to spend time to observe, see if the child is still at single-word level, or he's already progressing to two-word/phrase level. We need to guess if there's any link between two vocalizations.

His first 10 words are:
Daddy, 爸爸, MaMa媽媽, Baby, Bye Bye, 猫, Ear耳, Eye眼,  燈, 飽飽, Elmo, 畫畫(drawing), uh-O.

Seems that it's a mixture. I do think he is still in single-word level, even though he can pronounce different syllable in a row (e.g. EIEIO).

Any good advice?
