仔仔想去加拿大讀書，應點做？

仔仔今年F2，成績一向都不太理想，現在佢話想去加拿大讀書。我首先要怎樣做？有關學費及生活費是否真的要成港幣廿幾三十萬一年？審批過程要幾耐？需要審批什麼？小朋友要否通過什麼考試才可批准？

唔該晒！

PS  我這家都是普通香港人，沒有任何其他國家國籍。

你預備20萬一年,成績不是問題,真的要有心想讀書便可以了.
申請學校,申請visa,通常2-3個月吧.

錢是問題, 成績更是大問題.

本人舅父是生意人, 手上有兩個物業收租, 太太也有小生意, 我的姨甥女完成了中五(即考完會考, 有17分), 6年前到澳洲留學, 現在讀緊墨爾本獸醫LAST YR. 學費+食宿一年36萬左右, 姨甥女已經盡量節儉, 但除學費外, 還有很多額外支出, 連我舅父都說並不易為. 他現在差不多60歲了, 仍要很努力找生意才得以應付. 姨甥女也很生性, 因她想繼續攻讀碩士課程, 不過她說會自己找工作完成學業. 你的家庭經濟可以應付嗎?

另外, 你仔仔為何不在HK完成中學? 看看成績怎樣才計劃呢 ? 如果在HK的考試成績也不太好, 這樣到外國讀書, 成績會突飛猛進嗎 ?

金錢是好辛苦找回來的, 要用得其所, 如果仔仔真的用心讀書, 相信在任何地方也讀得好.

咁快俾仔仔去外國讀書?會唔早咗o的呢?如果乜國藉都無就過去顆邊讀,只可以入讀私立中學,而私立中學讀一年費用(學费、興趣班、住宿、饍食、零用錢再加埋每年來回飛機票加加埋埋最少卄萬一年;仲有小朋唔係讀一年就唔讀返香港讀,讀完成個中學課程條數有排計,仲有重未計入大學的費用。除非真係有咁多積蓄,唔係就真係好好想清楚。

Even if money is not an issue, the academic standard in Canada is not really easier.  The atmosphere may seem less competitive, but one still needs pretty good marks to get into a good university.  

On the side, there are some private schools out there claiming 99% of their students will go to prestigious universities.  I found those schools either very pushy like those in Hong Kong, or very commercial.  That's just my personal opinion.

Going back to the application process.  Yes, apply the school first, then apply the visa, if you really decide to go forward.

Agree with margelee that public schools are generally better than private schools in Canada. There are some super-good private schools, but almost impossible to get in, even for local people.

Public school will not have boarding, so oversea students will need to get help from a relative or find home-stay.

Some commercial private schools will sell you the package that includes boarding, food and everything, which can be attractive, but may not be good.

多謝各位靚媽ge意見！
我上星期都有同仔仔坐定定咁傾過，內容大致講吓點解突然咁想去讀書？去到加拿大又要自己照顧自已，加拿大學校生活情況，去讀書洗費....等等。
傾完計後發覺：原來他只是想英文程度可以好一些，響往外國讀書ge自由。我解釋給他聽：如去到外國自己怎樣照顧自己、無Daddy媽咪喺身邊會怎樣、去到咁遠地方，不是講玩，不可以半途而癈....等等。
最後，我叫他乖乖地在香港讀完中五，睇睇自己去向，打好自己根基，到時再作打算，如果到時都仲係想過去咪申請。

如果想學好英文, 可以試下參加一下遊學團, 一來可以先了解一下出外讀書既情況, 二來又可以增廣見聞, 更可以學習下獨立.

過多兩, 三年可以再看情況決定去唔去讀書都唔遲.

係呀！我本來都係打算報一些遊學團或者交流生計劃。但係近排關於豬流感ge新聞，所以暫時擱置，等遲一些再算。

小朋友真係成日都變。當初仔仔真係好想去讀書，佢每天都去摧我快d快d幫佢攪。初初我都不停去搵資料打聽吓，後來自己想真一層又擔心個仔，於是咪同佢傾吓去讀書目的係咩、去到外國有咩難題...等等。當時先知道原來仔仔只係覺得去外國可以令佢快d 學好英文同埋嚮往外國自由ge 生活，最後我咪同佢講先在香港打好根基(因為我仔仔成績不太好)，比多一兩年時間自己，想清楚自己將來。
仔仔聽完我講後，都好似好受落，跟住仲同我講將來讀完書想做咩(其實我仔仔由細到大都無理想ge人，所以我都好開心)。而家我覺得仔仔比以前有心機咗讀書，所以原來親子溝通真係好緊要好緊要！

我當年係多倫多讀左一年高中，考TOFEL過左關，入左多倫多大學讀工商及會計，正常人係要讀四年架（第一年mud都讀下，以拿高分為主，第二年先揀到好既Major再讀三年）不過我趕住返香港，所以暑假都讀書，我係小數讀三年就大學畢業既人，不過超辛苦！

My daughter coming Sept will be the last year of Cert. after that she (may be) will go back to Canada has her study. She will go with her brother F.2-3 too.Bcos brother study not good in HK. they are citizen of Canada ,so how to plan it better.

I used to live in Vancouver, from my understanding, if your son is <16 yrs old, he can apply for public high school but they charge you overseas student tuition fee.  Public school is much better than those private school with tons of advertisement.  There are for sure some good private school but not easy to get into, you must have good marks before you can get into.  

Education system is good in Canada but not easier than in HK.  I worked really really really hard before I could get into a good university.  There are many easy private university/school with low reputation.  Even if your son graduate from that, some companies in HK dont' recognize the degree.  In addition, Chinese is very important in future, F.2 Chinese level is not enough for your son in future.  

Please think it through carefully specially the financial issue and his development issue.
