Sorry, I haven't logged onto BBK for quite a while. Pls see my replies below:
1. 你們滿唔滿意拔萃男書院附屬小學 , 如校風, 學生質素, 教學方針. 等等
Overall, we are pleased with it. But like all schools, it has its strengths and weaknesses. The school is strong in music and sports and the boys have a fair amount of exposure and opportunities to perform and compete, but come music festival/sports events for instance, those boys in the orchestra/school teams will have to miss quite a lot of lessons for rehersals/practises. The quality of the boys are generally pretty high.
2. 老師 對學生的態度如何
Generally good, esp those in G1. But since it's an all boys' school afterall, there are teachers who are firm in order to maintain order and discipline.
3. 學校有什麼特別的設備, 齊全嗎
I think it's one of the best equipped primary schools in HK in this regard. It shares some of the facilities with the secondary school (like the indoor heated pool), the tracks and fields...etc.
4. 是活動還是傳統教學
Largely traditional, with elements of "活動教學", like they will have quite a lot of maths competitions during lessons, electives (with 20 + subjects ranging from astronomy, chinese chess, money management, toy science... to choose from), project months..etc.
5. 功課多嗎, 小一大約有多少份
Not much on the whole as the school encourages after school activities. If your boy works efficiently, within 30-45 mins on average for lower forms, a bit more for upper grades.
6. 現小一學費多少 + 雜費
I think $40,000. Not much misc fees.
7. 放學後有興趣班嗎, 如有多少收費
Tones of before and after school activities, eg. fencing, golf, basketball, tennis, swimming, arts, calligraphy, for upper grades, photography, animation...etc. Since classes do not start until 8:40am, you can sign your boy up for morning activities too, so of which starts at 7:15 or 7:45
8. 小一有名次排嗎
Only if you come 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the entire grade, or if you win the subject prize in each class. Otherwise, none as the school doesn't wish to exert too much pressure on the boys (and their parents).
9. 學校注重小孩的名次還是其他呢
I assume this relates to ranking in kindergarten. I don't think so as performance during the interviews is probably the most important.
10. 中文是否普通話教學
Nope. Cantonese, but we have 3 Putonghua lessons per week.
11. 英文及數學 的水平高嗎
English - pretty high. The english standards of the boys are generally pretty good.
Maths - generally pretty good too, but I believe quite a number of them have extra tuition outside schools. So I don't know whether their good grades are attributable to the schools or to their outside tuition.
12. 拔萃男書院附屬小學是男校, 對小朋友的異性或同性接觸有影響嗎?
too early for me to say. I hope not. I think boys at this age are not particularly interested in playing with girls anyway.
