AABR test 準確度有幾高

my son has passed the hearing test in QM after deliveried. However, QM arrange the AABR test for him when he is 1 month due to 黃疸太高. then, the result is left ear fail. So he need to take the baer test when 3months. i feel so worried and would like to know if any mom has this experience?

篩檢未通過的注意事項

影響寶寶篩檢未通過的因素很多，包括有，殘存在寶寶外耳道的胎脂或羊水、儀器操作的人為因素…等等，假使篩檢未通過，家長一定要配合聽力師定期帶寶寶進行複檢以確定診斷。同時，也要避免以為看到寶寶對聲音有反應，就不回院進行複檢而錯失治療的黃金期....

基本上AABR的準確性很高, 但會因為一些外在因素, 如環境嘈音、BB的聲音(如郁來郁去, 或吸吮的聲音)、中耳的羊水影響。初步若不通過測試, 就需要再回去跟進詳細一點的測試BAER (Brainstem auditory evoked response)這個測試會比AABR準確, 亦可診斷弱聽程度...

不要過早擔心，你現在就繼續留意BB對聲音的反應，做測試時可以講番比聽力學家知道。若你想早一點知道BB的聽覺程度, 可以考慮早去私人聽覺中心測試, 那樣就不用擔心兩個月....若不幸有弱聽, 亦可以早一點知道...

thanks Icanhear.
He just take the BAER test today in QM and still find the problem on left ear. it seems that he cannot hear under 80db.
does it mean it is very serious? need any counter measure to it?
