培正---小一家長--傾吓計?

我女今年讀小一,好似無咩功課咁,英文/數都好淺,課外活動就因為安排唔到接放學而一樣都無參加,有D扛心............

開學只有一個月，相信還在適應期當中。我比較滿意中、數，但英語無text book,派回來的story book很淺。

您好!我女是考入去的,幼稚園讀救世軍,是活動教學,所以認字都幾叻,但寫就一般,佢地d英文真係好淺,好似k2咁。話時話,你知唔知佢地幾時至會有oral?佢幼稚園時有外籍老師,比較願出聲,而家叫佢開口讀或者講,真係撬把口都唔開!

My child was studied in PC Kinder and now is P1. Like most students, we did not join the after school activities.  Most of the activities are contract out and I prefer to have this near my living area.
I am quite satisfied with the progress as my child could finish most of the homework by himself within half an hour.  So he could spend time in other activities.  
Agreed with you that English book is too simple.  We have to wait and see the progress as I haven't seen the story books we bought. I would let him read other story books e.g. oxford tree and lady bird etc.  Last week my child's English tutor told me that he had improved a lot in understanding after he had promoted to Primary.  I found him dared to speak full sentence and more confident in speaking English with other people now even with grammatical mistake.  I prefer story book rather than test book which are so boring.
As told by the principle in parent meeting, the aim of these 2 years is to build up the reading habit for the child. They are expecting the child to read books by themselves. Yesterday I prepared the time schedule with my son and found that he could have only 1/2 hours in reading at evening.  What I am worrying how to spend the time more efficiently. Let's share the experience.

I also agreed that English story programme is more interesting for learning but i still feel hesitation on the progress. i do hope the school will have more encouragement for the children using language.  During last parent's day, I suggested the school to have one Mandarin day and one English Speaking day a week.  Still waiting for their response.

On the other hand, the school bus arrangement is very bad.  My child take the school bus 7:05am but arrive home 4:45pm. We are the first station getting on the bus but late getting off. The bus travel all around on the morning and same at pm.  I've ever drove to pick up my child after class and arrived home at 3:50.  My child finished all homework in half hours but the school bus was still travelling around.   :-x  :-x

From the time table, there is oral lesson once a week but i don't know when will start it. I am looking for outside English Class for my girl. Which class is your daughter studing at. My daughter is at 光.

I think the oral lesson is teaching by English speaking teacher but not Pui Ching's teacher.  My son said she was a Chinese lady. Pui Ching starts to teach phonics form K1 by English speaking teacher.  They would continue to teach phonics in Primary.

I know they are planning to teach in Mandarin in Secondary school in the near future. Hope they would change and improve according to the the request of parents.

請問你覺得培幼高班的功課量比較培正小一, 邊個多d? 我個仔現在讀培幼高班, 佢做野好慢, 所以每日都用2個小時做功課, 有時填色要留番第二朝早做, 我很擔心佢上到小學唔知要用幾多時間才可完成功課。

1.依家英文科係無課本,淨睇圖書,係唔係成個上學期都係咁?
2.佢地教拚音的進度表拉到好長,咁咪要學好耐囉?

功課其實唔多,每日3-5樣,有時在學校都做得七七八八,因為lunch可以做,逢二,三,四最後一堂又可以做,但我個仔就唔得,向學校無心機做,求求其其,d字識飛,返屋企又要擦o左再做,做完功課溫下當日教d書,默下書,大約兩個鍾啦,有時要剪報紙耐d,仲要睇埋一日一篇,都幾忙!

[size=large]我女直情係學校就攪掂哂(剪報/project除外),所以返到黎好無聊。

My son also finished most of homework in school at beginning.  But now he starts to have chess with classmate during lunch time and can do the other half when returned home. But they get a lot of fun and I like him to enjoy playing with other kids.

You could let you daughter to have some activities after school.  If she enjoys reading and could read several books by herself everyday, there is no need to worry about.  My son is learning piano, swimming, Taekwondo and English.  I also bring him to playground for 45 min several days a week.  I will let him to watch news program with me everyday.  I always feel not enough time.  Your daughter seems quite mature and you could make the time schedule with her.  Enjoy the honey moon time as the term just started. Don't give too much pressure for your daughter and yourself.
