我親戚個女係St Catherine讀緊 K3, 開學後己先後收到聖芳濟各及陳守仁通過幼稚園派小一申請表給學生.

係唔係暗示呢2間小學好想收St Catherine 學生?

請問有冇其他幼稚園有代小學派表 ?

我女讀維多利亞幼稚園小一家長會果日, 門口放哂d學校既catalogue 起碼 20間仲有d有報名表 tim, 我估d 學校拎去d 幼稚園方便d 家長拎報名表, chance 應該一樣既 :

No. 費時你去排隊阻住 traffic. Would receive more application forms later.

as far as I know, both st francis and tsl can let parents download the forms from internet.

why they still bother to distribute the forms through st catherine ?

promotion lor, cos not many parents know how to download from the form, and many parents do not have time to do research.

A fact is that even today in 2004, some families do not possess a computer at home, some do not have internet account.

Besides SC, Kentville also has these forms simply because both schools total more than 1000 students.

even government schools also distributed promotion leaflets to St. Cat even their admission is based on point system and allocation.

Admission really depends on interview/test performance.  I know a boy from Tuen Mun's common KG but got SFA cos he passed the written test and lined up for the application form by himself, while quite a number of st Cat & Kentville kids fail both schools even they got the forms via school simply due to poor performance.  

So, there is no need to complicate the matter.  Just for administrative convienence.

我 really 只識一小撮St.Cat, K1-k3 classmates + 校車 classmates 都唔夠 60 人, 搭上搭 hear 都唔夠 100人.

Thank you.  We are just here to share and for fun la.

Just to add some points:
1.  TSL makes it clear that PLK KG kids will have extra points in the selection process cos TSL belongs to PLK.

2. Last year, I had come across 3 parents who did not know there was a school called "KTS" though you can download the application form from internet.

3.   obervation by first round (before Dec): some kids got several private/DSS schools at the same time; some were on the waiting list of several schools; and some got nothing.

My point is that if it because the school helps distribute the forms = the kids have advantages, I am afraid you have overlook the situation.

我想在第二輪統一派位前有優先的機會不大,在叩門時如能請得名幼稚園校長親自到私小作說項反而可能有用。

在統一派位及九月開學前,私小/直資都不能保證學生會就讀,有好的學生便收吧,反而給了優先權給某些人有甚麼用呢?而且各私小都知考生會報其他私小,一人不能讀二校, 優先收對自己也沒好處。當然在某些幼園辦的小學簡介會上, 私小校長都會識趣地說很喜歡此幼園的學生。

唯一只有保良開宗明義加分給自己的幼稚園生。不過據知蔡繼有及陳守仁收取保良幼稚園生不算多。

學校派表到幼稚園，只有一個原因:希望該幼稚園生選擇其學校。原因亦只有一個:便是認為該幼稚園過往的畢業生表現合符學校的要求。

以我所知，APS,KTS TSL 和 SFA 一向都直接派表到St. Cat 和 Kenville. 前年，MTC 還特地為St. Cat 開多一個簡介會，都是為了吸引家長在第一輪選她！

除了TSL 和 MTC外， 此二間幼園生大部份都會選讀上述私小(派位理想者除外)。方便家長的安排吧。

至於肯付止三仟多元學費的家庭，家中沒有電腦，說說笑吧！

EDt 說 TSL 和 CKY 收不多 PLK 的人，不對！今年TSL 收了八十多個 TAYSF 的學生(有說一百) CKY 亦不少。

Maybe we better ask the current K3 parents.  
My information is obsolete (dated Sept 03) when the school instructed me to download KTS (deadline 18-9-03)form and send a return envelope to APS (deadline end of Sept 03) by myself at my own cost.

I don't think it is laughable.  
First, St Cat joins the government's school fee allowance scheme = no need to pay $3300 + school fee/month, allowing some not-so-well-off families to apply.  
Second, a computer at home does not mean you have to use it.  
Third, some people prefer to invest more than 3-year school fee (more than 150k) to pursue a university degree instead of buying a computer for home use and/or apply an internet account, and all their homeworks are hand-written.   Amongst, some of these students are professional with good income.

計算各私立及直資小學中 St. Cat. 學生所佔人數便可一目了然--- 別忘了考慮 St. Cat. 每年 "出產" 多少畢業生
付得出三仟多元學費的家庭, 不一定便會買電腦, 買了電腦也不表示家長便 會/懂得 從網上 Download 學校申請表, 有點錢不一定代表什麼

Hello EdT你絕對冇收錯風。
雖然 Kids from PLK kindergarten是有分加，但我可以肯定的告訴大家知，假若你有興趣報考TSL就無謂worry about does your kid come from PLK kindergarten。

這個加分在正取生及waiting list階段並不重要的，面試的表現才是考慮取錄與否的主因。

我在這裡留言目的只是想鼓勵有興趣報考TSL的小朋友，不要被流言影響信心。
我女兒今年是TSL的P.1學生了，她的而且確也是來自譚歐陽少芳紀念幼稚園，但她被取錄絕對只因interview當日佢出奇地表現太好 ，連我這個媽咪也感意外 。...
你們都知道要interview就要交K2的成績表，但你們有冇想過或見過一個幼稚園学生的成績表連一個'A'都冇，這個就是我的女兒。所以當我收到TSL的信時---以正取生身份被取錄not waiting---我多少有點失望 (是因這樣的成績 都收 :exclaim: ) 及驚喜 (是因為我真喜歡這學校) ，亦聯想到難道真的PLK kindergarten的加分:exclaim:
但第曰我女兒居然話我知唔咪好多同學仔考到   連佢個best friend都考唔到   ，連waiting list都冇份 ，你知唔知點解我咁奇怪，因這個best friend係一個好可愛的女孩，K2時佢攞 'best in English'，K3佢攞 'best in Maths' 而成績當然全部係 'A'，連interview當日我妹妹都話 '好彩佢地唔係同一層考'。當然亦有好多全'A'又做哂profile都考唔到。
所以唔好信傳言TSL收好多PLK kindergarten的学生而影響自信心。
而我亦認讖一些SC, Kentville 考到TSL，反而有一位在SC考第一的又考唔到。所以interview的表現很重要。

這裡我一定要提到的是我女兒同時亦考了另一間私小 Good Hope，都同樣以這張沒有 'A' 的成績表、沒有推薦信，但都是靠當日的表現以 '正取生' 被取錄。
所以TSL收佢並不因為佢係PLK kindergarten的學生，因為名校如Good Hope都同時取錄佢。

我感謝她被幸運眷顧，但一張沒有 'A' 的成績表能分別在兩所名校超過千名 (大約是TSL 1800+ & Good Hope 1300+女校 )的小朋友中脫穎而出亦不能說單憑 '幸運' 兩字可以做到。
但無論如何都希望看了這文章的你能對考学校更有信心，幸運亦降臨你小朋友身上。

By the way我小朋友 K1&K3 成績都是全 'A'   只是K2出左問題所以導改 '0' :arrow: 'A' 。老師比佢的comment 一向是brilliant girl    。所以唔好睇小佢 ，更不要認為兩所學校有問題'收咁嘅學生'。


而我之前提到的my daughter's best friend要等到8月尾，校長老師加埋佢自己的award先入到，謝天謝地連累我擔心佐咁耐。所以這階段來自PLK kindergarten、各學校校長的推薦信...當然仲要小朋友的smart等才會有用了 。

之前我女兒都有考SC, SC亦收佐我個女，那時已經有人話比我知考頭幾名的會知名次，但當然我沒實際經驗。因 K1 的頭一個月我兩間都有交學費，希望睇真d先作決定，我不揀SC並不是說SC不好，况且SC原本是我的首選，當知SC收佐我個女我連大坑真光唸都唔唸連位都冇留，但保良局譚歐陽少芳紀念幼稚園的class teacher 好nice，同埋我始終是希望入TSL ，所以最後我揀了保良局譚歐陽少芳紀念幼稚園。
那位考第一(或許是班裡非全級)的男孩，現在派了入英華讀緊P1。徐非他父母講大話(我們怎會到學校求證)，但若他講大話，那麽他都騙了不少他的朋友。
其實my daughter's best friend 在K2 取了best in .. 原本我都唔知，只係因為佢考唔到TSL我為佢緊張想辨法時佢媽咪講我先知有這些獎。

我只把我知的講出來，絕冇騙大家，如那SC家長真的講大話，他在我們身边亦只有羞愧 。
