Is 優才 a good school. I have no idea on this school but learn his name quite a long time. Any comment on this school ?

優才學校在我眼中並不是傳統的貴族學校，當中所錄取的也全不單是資優兒童，但肯定的是關心和能投於較多資源在孩子身上的家長，他們的子女在獲取的機會上有優勢！

正如我回答優才的入學問題中，我欣賞這學校的地方很多，我嘗試引用當天的問題解答分享當中的意見：


問題6及7
6）為什麼打算送孩子到優才學校求學？ 7)優才與一般學校不同之處甚多，（參看入學簡章）那一項最吸引你？為什麼？
第6) 及第7) 問題我覺得相類，我會綜合回答。
正如我在前題回應，我覺得裁培之道在於為孩子建構思想体系和提供多元化的學習渠道，在拜讀陳家偉校長的著作後更堅定我在這方面的想法！

我欣賞優才以愛心、創意和勤奮建構學生的基本思考，在小班教學的文化、良好師資的培育及充裕的教育資源下，優才便成為我為孩子首選的學校。當然，我更滿意優才能提供50多項不同的才華興趣班，好使學生能充分在不同環境中開拓自己喜愛的興趣及才能。

8) 優才學校自開辦以來，備受傳媒廣泛報導，你或你的親友對優才學校印象如何？

優才自開辦以來備受傳媒廣泛報導，我覺得優才對教育是有背負使命感，對於多元智能的推廣堅持更是孜孜不懈，她】所做的並不單止為校內的學生編制美好的校園夢，我深信她】對外還形聚著一種意識，使到香港的教學制度來一個革新！

9) 優才學生升讀英文中學(emi)達82%，更計劃開辦優才中學，你對此有何意見？
我欣賞優才的是【她】將育才的理念重點投放在如何培育幼兒建構全面的思考能力，即是可解決日常生活困難的能力。
這不單限於傳統學校所推及的智識傳播，還有是多元智慧的多元化能力。社會清楚知道，六年小學教育是奠定思想模式
的初階，很多成型或是實踐的機會多在中學或大學階段發生。因此，我非常讚成優才開辦中學，使得優質教育有所銜
接，幼兒的成長更趨全面化。

10) 你覺得優才學校的老師有何特點？    (參看老師簡介)
從簡介內的資料察看，驚覺優才的老師全具很高的教育資歷，大部份教師還是外國名校的優異生。還有，他們的平均年齡都是年青化，我相信他們對工作是有幹勁，有熱誠。所謂百聞不如一見，在家長簡介會中，目睹陳家偉校長對多元智能精警的簡介，林揚晶老師繞樑清脆而輕鬆生趣的聲音，Miss Helen Morris 正統清晰的英國語文，這些教師的表現都令我和孩子更加響往加入優才的家庭！

多謝你的回應，其實我點解向大家分享優才小一人學報名的問題，並不是我覺得這是一份表準答案。相反，我認為這是一份學校要瞭解報讀幼兒背景的標準範例，當中大家會清晰校方除了要瞭解報讀幼兒的學習能力、才華及曾否接受相關課程涵授外，還藉此探索家長對校方教育理念的認知深淺及認同程度，家長會否投放時間及資源在幼兒的教育成長及協助家教發展。這都是大部份學校取錄學生所要求的綱領！

My son study is the GT school as well. He is P1 student. I am very happy the school. Here is my highlights the reason.

1) Small class : 21 ~ 24 students in one class
2) Teaching Chinese in Mandarin after P1
3) 4 native english speaking teachers for 18 classes in whole school
4) Plan to have english secondary school in 2005.


In addition, I am happy the activities for parent.
1) 2 orientation in August for better understanding the school operation.
2) Mandarin class for parent teaching how to learn mandarin with my son. (not free)
3) We will have an interview this Friday reviewing my son 's situation for first 3 weeks school life.

For the application, I found the interview is very casual. I think the application letter is very critical. In our application letter, it clearly mention the strength of my kid and how we develop their strength. Also, we demonstrate the understanding the weakless of our kid and how to make those area better. We spent more than a month to prepare ~ 50 pages application letter and 多元智能 has been used to analyze my son's strength and weakless.

我並唔認為若你要和你的BB報讀優才時需另分開加附個人資料，因為優才家長書的問題，我覺得校方是經過精心策劃，每條問題都有序列邏輯性，藉此引導家長回應對校方教育理念的認知及認同，報讀幼兒個人的資料：如幼兒個人的興趣、才華發展及曾接受的教育。當然、還有是家長對校方可作出的協作資源。

所以，若能順著家長書內的問題帶出要表達的資料，這樣校方在處理或評估報讀幼兒個案時會方便及容易得多！

特別一提，家長書內可填報的空間不多，如果大家有大量資料需填報，可自己重新整理。我上年以word 格式造了一個申報檔案，有需要可電郵給需要者。

另外，上年我將所填報的資料造成power point，跟住以彩色列印，出來效果不錯，這可能幫助駿顯被獲取錄幫助不少！

原來你個囝囝都係讀一年班，唔知係邊班。上個星期五有冇去家長會？你覺得點？

今個星期既活動日會唔會到？得閒分享小朋友校內的趣事？

My son studies in 1A. We did join last Friday event. We properly will join this weekend event again.  We were in the school in almost every week for different event. in last one month  It is quite busy.

Almost three weeks school life now for my son, he enjoy the school life very much. Not too many homework and he can finish it within as hour easily. So far, we are OK for the school arrangement . From the parent point of view, I do see the clear direction from the school management. The headmaster is very nice. Each teacher has their owned talent such as strength in drama, sports, music or arts. It is quite interesting.

But I do worry about the concept on having english secondary school in same campus which get education department approved already. I worry the secondary school will affect to the resource allcation in primary school. However, that should be good move for my son. He can easily to enter english secondary school still with small class size. It should not be bad idea.

How about your son ? Does he enjoy the school life?

Just to interrupt:  My son is in 1B, same as AlanB's kid.  Greetings to both of you!
So far my son enjoys his school life a lot.  But unfortunately he's quite absent-minded.  So I still have to struggle with him pn many trival things!  He just forgot to bring his handbook back home yesterday.  Oh my.
This Saturday I will bring my son to the Carnaval and the Celebration.  Hope to see all of you there!

你個囝囝係邊個呀！駿顯一定會識得佢，因為佢做咗班長，平時負責班內的安靜，專職襲名（講吓笑 : ）曾經問過駿顯點解老師會選佢做班長？佢既回應話，佢係學校時既表現很安靜，即使排隊時，腳步放得好輕，唔似其他同學咁多嘴，自己覺得好似一個木頭儍瓜咁！在分享班長委任時適逢立法局選舉，順便和駿顯分享吓委任和推選的制度，當中駿顯學懂選舉入面的產生辦法，選舉人的任期、職權責任和工作範圍。在10月16日當天，優才還為所有被委任班長的同學舉行一個班長大會。

其實，優才內所有的學生大都會被委任一些職務以建立學生對學校和同學間的責任和歸屬感。已知除了班長外、還有每科的科長、普通話大使、運動用品管理員、風紀和膳長，而駿顯除了被委任班長，還同時擔任體育科科長和運動管理員。

對於這種職務委任的處理，我是讚同校方的教育理念，這麼多職務的產生，並不是在分豬肉獎，而是透過職能方面的認知，培育學生瞭解在群體生活中大家身處的角色和應付的責任。

講開這方面，駿顯都算稱職，開學不久，回到家中就發覺佢聲沙無力，細問下才知佢在轉堂時為咗保持班內的安靜，不停地大聲呼籲同學保持安靜，（我諗當時最嘈個果梗係佢），現在他已認得晒全班同學，在履行職責時，佢祇需抄底違規同學編號，再轉告訴老師，不用大大聲，嘈生晒啦！

講開，昨天班小朋友第一次中文默書，駿顯話佢錯咗一個半字，你個細路點呀？其實我覺得默書的內容都唔淺

Hi AlanB,
My son is Adrian, and he knows that your son is the class monitor.  Adrian is quite absent-minded (!!) and quiet that he is quite passive indeed.  Fortunately he still enjoys his school life.  I am a bit nervous about what he will be allocated in the talents classes!
Adrian always says that he's tired after a whole day school life.  How is your son?  The only gain is that, after taking his bath, he falls asleep easily.  :)  Luckily he can get up early without whining or so.
It seems that the dictation book is in the school, so I don't know how he's doing.  I worry more about the English dictation.  All the words and sentences sound very difficult to me!  >_<"

In fact, my son is Chun Hei. He is so troublesome in last few weeks. He lost few things in the school including his english workbook. He didn't submit his english homework for two times already. He just get the new workbook today. He didn't know what he wrote in the student handbook. We all get lost. Anyway, he do enjoy his school life. He said he like the lunch box very much such as red rice. But we are not lucky as Charis. My son never want to go to bed. He is kind of hyperactive kid.

From parent perceptive, we also have similar situation as Charis, we do nevious on english dictation and talents classes allocation. I hope the school can assign the class which can further develop his talent.  Anyway, it is good turning point for my son. I wish he will have happy and challenge life.

Hi Chunhei's mom,
Yes my son also likes the lunchbox, especially he had pizza yesterday!  But when he's back home, he always says that he's hungry and has some snacks.  He also likes his formal school uniform a lot!  So very easy to help him to change his clothes in the morning.
Today his class is going to have the first english dictation as spelling game.  I am still worry about it as he couldn't remember all the vocabs still!  When I look at the DWL for the coming weeks, I can't help worrying!  Sounds like very difficult to me!

優才今天下午不用上課，現在我和駿顯一齊上網睇BK，佢好想知道Andrian的中文姓名，可否轉告？

這兩週很多活動，不知小朋友們經歷的中文默書、英文Spelling Game和才華班測試的情形如何？希望大家交換吓！

駿顯話佢係中文默書時錯了一個半字、英文Spelling Game都有D做錯，不過才華班的趣味數學測試就攞到84分！

上星期的親子花燈製作，不知大家有沒有和小朋友一起製作。我們一家用了一些再造咭紙及塑膠樽加上已破爛的電燈做了盎花燈。星期一早會帶回校時，駿顯被陳校長邀請上台講解如何製作花燈，若有早上送小朋友上學的家長，大家
當天在台上聲大大，非常認真地講解的小朋友就是駿顯嚟！

Hi AlanB,
My son's Chinese name is Chung Tin, and was sat next to Chun Hin!  So I think your son knows who he is.
Today I got Adrian's Spelling Game.  He didn't know how to spell 1 word, while he left out 1 word accidentally!  Luckily he only needs to correct each word once:  he hates writing too much.
Was there any Maths quiz last week?  Adrian (as usual) didn't tell me about that!  Anyway, I'm quite surprised that he got both his first choices in the Talent Classes.  He will take part in Taekwondo as well as Football!
We didn't take part in the lantern making last week.  It was my fault:  I was too busy to make one with him together.  Chun Hin was invited to explain his lantern?  That's great!  Next year I wouldn't miss it!
Tomorrow I'll bring Adrian to school.  See you there!
