Thank you for your sharing. My girl is a september girl who is accepted by SKH (Central) and St. Catherine (ENG/PTH) K1. Well. I'm not sure which school is better for her to get in a good school like SPCCP or DGJS at the moment. Any suggestions, other mummy or daddy?

SKH central has a better chance with SPCC then St. Catherine. I am not sure how good the rate of St. Catherine is with DGS, all I know is CCKG has a very high acceptance rate with DGS.

Agree with ahtan. However getting into SKH does not mean a must to SPCPS. Very much depends on the kid. Each year the acceptance rate varies.
There are also some SKH accepted by DBS but the rate is not high as CCKG.

This year, about 20 students from SKH (Central) got admitted to SPCCPS out of 11X students (am and pm).  The hit rate is quite good.

I don't know the figure for SC this year, but few years ago, there was only few (less than 5) students from SC got admitted to SPCCPS.   If you take into account the number of students in SC, the percentage is very low.

For your info, the headmistress of SPCC, Dr. Chan, is the chairlady of SKH school committee.  The headmistress of SC is old girl of SPCC.

SKH is good for SPCCPS but 寶山 is much better.
Last year, 30 out of 48 students from 寶山 were admitted to SPCCPS making an acceptance rate of >60%!

Understood, but considering the school fee and the difficulty to get in...

Also, I guess this year will be less.

My kid is also from SHK. SPCPS welcome SHK kids not only because they belong to the same church but I think that key is that the headmistress is familiar with the school curriculum and they know that the school focus very much in disciplining the kids’ manner and politeness. It is not difficult to teacher textbook knowledge but good manners is years and years of hard work.

I truly believe that as long as you are devoted parent and did the best to prepare your child…it is good enough already and does not necessary to be in SHK related kindergarten. At the end of the day…there are many more seats taken up by other lovely, smart, well-behaved and adorable kids with different background.

No matter which school our kids went to…they are going to embark to their primary school journey with a Great school and hoping that they can grow up to be a loving, All-rounded and humble person.

My son was accepted K1 by SKH ( Central) in 09-10.
Can you tell me more information about SKH? ( such as the languages environment, the teachers...)
My son"s target school will be SPCC or DBS.
