| Sure you can. You need to know which action provide what type of sensation to the child and how this sensation help children to develop their skills.
Sensation such as touch/tactile, olfactory/smell, visual, hearing, tatse, proprioception, stereognosis, vestibular sense, etc.
Under SI theory, children got special need got difficult to explore any of this type of sense or over explore; and that inference their development of skills, so SI help child recap and integrate this sense if not enough or desensitize the sense. Therefore, not only child with special needed need SI, "normal" child still need SI as one of their development component.
