激活英文小學 pls join our discussion(part 2)

When my daughter was in K3, I started teaching her to recognise some commonly used Chinese characters. It is really helpful to build up her confidence in reading. Actually children can learn the Chinese characters anywhere and anytime, for example, reading the road signs, names of the roads and signs on the vehicles. Don't look down upon them, they have a very huge capacity in memorizing things at this age. However, frequent retrieval of the knowledge is needed.

In this surprise holiday, I have brought her to the Science Museum, the pool and the Wetland Park. We also played badminton and table tennis and visit the public library ( However, tomorrow she can go back to the school library to read because it will be open to the students. Hurray. ) Thanks God that most of her afterschool activities are not cancelled, so she can have fun with friends.

hi,  what have you arranged for your kids in the coming two weeks?

My husband made some chinese word-cards so our girl can learn more chinese words these days.

My girl is strong in memorizing things but....selectively.

Believe that your daughter wouldn't be bored in such a sudden holiday!

The staff in GM is so considerable. A few days ago, one of the staff phoned us and asked about the health situation of the pupil. She also said that if the pupils are in good health condition, they are welcomed to come back to school to use the IT facilities, the library or meet the teachers if they have problems in the homework. However, parents have to register first by phone. It is a good news for parents, especially those who live nearby. My daughter went back to the school library for two hours in the afternoon. The school library is less crowded and the books there are cleaner and tidier. Besides, she could meet her homeroom teachers again.

Hi, I've got the school notice finally.

One question.... do you think its too early if I take my girl to the school at 8:30 every morning ?   
I worry that she will feel lonely if she's the ONLY student in the school at that time.

我都係諗緊lee個問題, 不過學校是9:00am上堂相信8:45am都要番到學校啦!  星期六可以再問清楚學校.

I actually had asked the school about this...

I was told that the school would open at 8:00am, but the school doesn't encourage students arriving before 8:30am as the 姨姨&叔叔 may be busy at cleaning work...

My husband will ask more details this Saturday.

Any parent living in the Fairview Park?  Anyone knows when (approximate time) the school bus will pick up/drop off children at the Fairview Park in the morning/afternoon?  The school office cannot tell yet.

Hi, have you got a paper from the school about the bus-stops details?  There a voice no. you can call for further queries.

I originally planned to use the school bus service but now I've decided to send my girl to school myself as I want her doing homework at school in the afternoon ( then... will miss the school bus )

As per my experience (but it's two years ago), the school bus should pick up your children at 8:10-8:25 in the morning;and drop them off at 4:40-5:10. Hope this can help!

I have spent thousands ($$)  on my girl's decayed teeth, so I think I will only prepare some less sweety snacks e.g. light biscuit / cake...etc. for her.
