My daughter has accepted by two 直資DSS. So, I call the Education Bureau hot line on 6 Oct. The officer said that all they have to do is only cancel your application of 自行&統一派位. They would not care about your selection. So, no matter how many register of DSS are decided by you. But the officer also query me, why you want to hold two schools at the same time, it is no meaning at all. You need to select the best one only with notice to cancel the undertaking of other school. So I decided to canel one already!

I think your act is appreciated by those disappointing parents who are being or will be on waiting list. All parents in fact shall learn to do this.

Hi, Beetle,

Yes! You need to notify them in writing & request an acknowledgement letter from school as well. (But may depends on difference school) you better call the school first for further information.

幾多間都得, 只要你願意比留位費。

留位費多數係三、四佰蚊, 但亦有個別學校要收2k幾, 簡直係搶錢

I don't think so...Once you registered with another DSS, the previous one will be informed and place deleted.....Usually, parents should write letter to the previous DSS for cancellation

有次去一間直資聽talk, 個校長話佢地係冇辦法知道o係佢地度register o左o既小朋友有冇o係其他dss register o個喎, 所以好多時都要等交留位費, 甚至開學先confirm有幾多小朋友放棄o家~~~ 佢仲叫d家長要有"公德心", 如果諗住唔讀就早d通知佢地, 等佢地可以call waiting list o既小朋友o忝~~

咁係咪代表如果分別in o左 2 間DSS, 就算我今日去學校A俾留位費同填寫放棄統一派位張聲明書, 都唔會影響學校B下月先公報既結果 ????

因我怕學校B得知我已向其他DSS註冊後, 會cancel我嗰囡既application.......

I honestly don't think you need to worry.
Last year we registered with one DSS in November, & we recieved a phone call in August from another DSS, which initially put us on the waiting list, to register!
Similar situations happened to my friends too.

It really depends on what you want as the schools you listed are in certain extent different from each other.  Like buying a pack of rice in the supermarket, you can choose amongst price, origin of production, soft or hard texture...

The most important consideration is which school would fit your kid most.

Amongst all 聖瑪加利 and 陳守仁 use full English as medium of intruction while Piu Kiu uses PTH.  Others are mixed and with Catonese predominant.

Both Ying Wa and 陳守仁 are less than $20k a year while 聖瑪加利 and Piu Kiu,  some $30k.

All provide 12 years 一條龍 except 陳守仁 and 嶺南大學香港同學會直資小學 (not sure).

Location is also an important onsideration.  As it make little sense for a kid to study in Pui Kiu while he lives in Island East, unless there is no better alternatives.

Hence, the ball is in your court.

I believe all those you mentioned are good schools as long as your kid is fit for.
