Last year, my daughter underwent a group activity first and then individual interview. For group activity, children were asked to sit in a room and listen to a story from an English speaking teacher while another teacher was marking. The teacher asked children questions on the story and children only answered them voluntarily. Then, they were asked to follow the teachers to do actions along the music. Again, a teacher was marking! Finally, children were asked to do some exercise according to some instructions one by one.
For individual interview, I've chosen English for the medium of interview. The English speaking teacher asked her colours, animal shapes, numbers, alphabets and the child needed to answer her in words in most of the questions. The teacher also asked me one or two questions but I forgot what they were.
The whole process was smooth and the environment gave the child no pressure. In fact, they'd asked volunteer parents to hold some game stall for the children to play. This school did make good impression to me although I didn't choose this school at last. |
